Several residents were present and presented both sides of the .problem' Motion by King, seconded by Nawrocki that the requegt for this sidewalk be denied. Roll call - sll ayes. Residents were assured that the installation of sidewalks ~n that area wenld be considered.on a more extensive basis in the future, but that so-called boulevard trees are improperly located in the sidewalk line, and the re-location of the public sidewalk may be considered in that area. Hearing on vacating a portion of ~lst ivenue in Block ~, Reservoir Hills. M~tion by King seconded by Ore~doeff that the City Manager be authorized to d~aw up an ordinance regarding the vacating of 41st Avenue ~from the North E~st corner of Outlot l, West to the East boundary of ~ot 3~¥ Block ~ Re~servoir Hills. Roll call - all ayes. A petition ~as received from property owners in the 4100 block on Arthur Street asking th&t~td~k ll0 feet~of the new curb be lowered. Motion by Nawrock~ seconded by King de ~nying the request to change the curb level on the East side of Arthur Street, .from 41st to 42nd. ~ Roll call - all ayes. Resolution offered by King, seconded by Ns~rocki, ~, the Assessment billing against ~ots 13 and 14, Rearrangement of Block E for Special Assessment #431 was billed in total against said property, and; W~EEEAS, said property has been legally subdivided for several years, ~RE, BE IT HERE~Y RESOLVED, thAt~the property owner of Parcel #1420 House No. 3915 N.E. 3rd Street, be Wanted a thirty (30) day grace period to September 28th, 1961, in which to pay the principle on the full assess- ment against~ said property in the amoUnt of $764.56 without interest. Roll call - aL1 ayes Resolution offered by Orendorff seconded by Nawrocki~ V~EHEAS, the property known and described as the easterly one-half of Lot 10, Block 2, Sheffield's Subdivision was assessed $455.80 for local improvement #428 Curb and Gutter and Asphalt mat based on a frontage bf 53 feet, and ~REAS, the easterly 9 feet of the abo~ described property was not benefitted by said Improvement No. 428, BE IT THEREFORE ~ESOLVE~, by the City Council of the City o£ Columbia Heights that the City Clerk be a~d she is hereby authorized and directed to strike fr~m I~cal Improwment #428, the Curb and Gutter and Asphalt mat charged against the easterly 9 feet of the easterly one-half of Lot 10, Block 2, Sheffield's Subdivision, in the amount of $77.40. Solicitor Roll call - all ayes The Engineering Department was asked to prepare a study for report at the February 26, 1962 meeting on sidewalk installations for school routes. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff that the mayor and City Manager be authorized to enter into an agreement with Mr. Gordon Cummens for the #2 Liquor store for a one year lease with a one y~ar option.
