Motion by McCline seconded by King, that these bids on seal coating be turned over to the City Manager for tabulation, to be awarded later on this evening. Roll Call - ~].1 Ayes. Bids on Pipe and Fittings were received from the following: American Cast Iron Pipe Plymouth Bldg., ~ls. Davies ]~ater Equip. Co. 1922 W.78th Street Municipal Supply Co. 3601 No.48th Ave. U.S.Pipe & Foundry Co. 915 Plymouth Bldg. James B. Clow & Sons, Inc. Chicago, ill. Motion by King seconded by ~awrocki, that these bids on pipe & fittings be turned over to the City Manager for tabulation and awarded later on this evening. Roll Call - All Ayes. Hearing held on Utilities for Rand Addition. The. eng~neerin9 ~department made an estimate' of $19.00 per front foot _o_~ r Sanitary. S~wer, Water, Street opening' and installation of gravel base. A ~discussion took place as to how far these improvements should extend, but no agreement could be reached, interested parties were asked to "adjourn to the ~ngineers office to try t~ come to a decision. This ~matter will be taken Up later in the meeting. ~COntinued hearing was held on sanitary sewer ihstallation on ~niyersity Avenue, east~si~e north of 40th Avenue. ~Motion'by King seconded by Nawrocki, that the City Manager be authorized 't~ ~raw up the necessary plans and specifications for installation Of ,.. Sewer on University, and call for bids or arrange for this installation as soon as possible.- Roll Call - All A~es. ~A hearing was held'~on repair and seal co~ting of~ streets as per attached list. An ~stimated cost was g~en'by the Engineer of 3~¢~per front foot bn streets, 12¢ on Avenues and 18¢.on all~ys. ~_n inquiry was. bad~.regarding 2nd Street, 42nd to 43rd and he was told this would be re-worked. ~Iotion by King ~econded by ~4cCline, 'that' the City M~nager be autho'rized ~to proceed' with'"- ' street repair and seal coating as listed. Roll-Call-- All Ayes. Recess called at 10:~5 P.M. Meeting called to order at 10:45 p.m. Re-application for Catering permit-.at 4000 N.~. Washington Street. Dra~ing and plans were presented as to how this property, would be used, also showing parking area. l~otion by King seconded by. McC!ine, that this catering permit be denied due to lack of sufficient parking. Roll Call - All.Ayes. Petition received opposing sidewalk installation on 4th Street between 50th and 5!st, which had been peitioned for in !9~0 and approve~ for installation . ~otion by King seconded by McCline, 'that that this petition.opposing sidewalk installation, be placed on file. Roll Call - All Ayes. Petition received on vacating alley west of VanBuren St., 106 feet north and parallel to 40th Ave. N.E. Motion by ~IcCline seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized to advertise a hearing on this request, to be held on August 28th. Roll Call - Rll Ayes. Petition received requesting that VanBuren between 40th and 41st be changed from one-way to two-way traffic. Motion by King seconded by McCline, that this request be turned over to the Traffic Commission for their recommendation. Roll Call - All Ayes. Petition received for concrete alley between 6th & 7th, from 48th to 49th. ~,iotion by King seconded by ~cCline, that the City Manager advertise a hearing on this request for the council meeting on August 28th. Roll Call - All Ayes. A letter was received from Walter Reinhard, Civil Defense Director, stating an extra day off from work was needed to attend a school for Civil Defense personnel prior to the Conference to be held in California in Ocotber. Motion by ~Cline seconded by Orendorff, that this request be granted. Roll Call - All Ayes. A request was received to install private water and sewer mains to serve 4156 Cleveland St.N.E. from JaKen Inc. Bldr. Motion by ~Cline seconded by King, that this request be ~ranted upon payment of the proper fee. Roll Call - All Ayes. A request for subdivision was received frogs Ed Chies of Lot ~, Block 21, Roslyn Park. Motion by Orendorff seconded by ~cCline, that subdivision be granted as follows: South ~ of Lot ~ - combined with Lot 9 and North~ of Lot S combined with Lot 7, m~m~-~e~[ ~£.tk? outstanding special assessments of $210.12, to be charged against Lot 7. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. . The City Manager reported an appraisal had been received on exchange of property in Reservoir Eeights. Motion by Orendorff seconded by King, that the City ~nager proceed in drawing up the necessary ordinance for the sale and acquisition of land in the proposed Reservoir Heights Addition. Motion by King seconded by ~awrocki, that approval be given to ~ & ~i inc. to go in and grade alley %~est of Reservoir Blvd. between 40th & 41st upon securing legal approval of the abutting land owners, and grades to be set by the City Engineer.
