Co. be awarded the bid on ~roject f~5102 in a total amount of $~.~,271.81,
as per attached Bid Tabulation. Roll Call - All Ayes.

to the City Manager for tabulation and awarded at the special Council
meeting June 28th at 8 p.m. Roll Call -Ail Ayes.
Hearing held on re-zoning request for ~ast side of jackson Street
between 49th and 50th, from R2 to Ri. Several people were present
opposing the present zoning of this ~k property.
Motion by I~ing seconded by O_endozzf, that this request for re-soning
East side of jackson St. 49-50, be denied, from R2 to R1. Roll Call -
All Ayes.
Hearing held on McKinley Street platting between 44th and 45th.
Several property owners were present and the Engineering department
showed drawings of proposed platting and made e~planations.
Motion by Ifing seconded by Chies, that -the City Manager be authorized
to proceed with the survey and~estimate of cost for opening of McIfinley
Street between 44th and 45th. Roll Ca~l - All Ayes.

Petition received opposing catering service at 4000 Washington St.N.E.
Motion by McCline seconded by King, that this pekition opposing catering
service be placed on file until such time as a request for a Special
Use Peri, it is received for a catering service. Roll Call - All Ayes.

First reading Ordinance No. 527, Being an Ordinance amending Ordinance
N .377, being an ordinance establishing a fire prevention code in the
City of Columbia Heights.
Resolution offered by McCline seconded by Orendorff, WIqEREAS: The City of
Columbia Heights, did on the 12th day of June, 1951, conduct and hold a
General Municipal Election; and
WHEREAS: The City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, at a regular
meeting of said Council held on the 26th day of June, 1961, did canvas
the returns and results of said General Municipal Election; and,
WHEREAS: The following results were determined by said canvas of said
General Municipal Election, to-wit:

NOW T!~EREFO~, Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of
ColumbiaHeights:'
That Warren A. Armstrong be and he hereby is declared, to be
elected Mayor of the City of Columbia Heights for a period of two years
commencing on the first I4onday after the First Tuesday of July, 1961
~ That Robert King and Bruce ~awro~i, be and they are.~ereby declared
to be elected Councilmen for a period of four years commening the first
Monday after the first Tuesday of july, 1961.
That the City shall continue~to operate its Municipal Liquor
Stores, rather than issue private liquor licenses. Roll Call - All Ayes.
The City Engineer reported the T~ite~Yay light pole at 41st & Jackson had
been d~aged and had to be replaced.
A brief report was given by the City Engineer regarding the proposal
and suggestions of St. Anthony and Apache Plaza, regarding Stinson
Blvd. between 37th and Silver Lane.
The City Engineer asked for authorization of appraisal on lots east
of ~illmore for 45% Avenue.

City Manager be authorized to proceed, with appraisal of access of the
South 30' of Lot 12 and North 30' of Lot 13, Block 2, Sheffield's
Subdivision, to be ~5½ Avenue east of Fillmore.. Roll Call-All Ayes.
Motion by McCline seconded by King, that Art Bo!ier Construction Co.
be paid the sum of 13,989/86, ou~ of the proper funds,
All Ayes.
Motion by Chics seconded by Orendorff, that payment be paid from P2K~/~.
Sanitary Sewer Fund to the P.!.R. Fund in the amount of $748.79, on.
Assessment ~.45.for Lot 6,Block 3, .Aud. Sub. of ~alton's 2nd Sub. Roll
Call - All Ayes.
Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, -that the following Licenses be
granted upon payment of the proper fee, Solicitors permit.to be turned
over to Police Dept. for 'their approval, and Use Car Lot license be
turned over to the Planning & Zoning Commission for their approval of
