The City Attorney reported '{--hat the Business men's recommendation regard-
ing Parking Meters, was that Ordinance No.522 be laid over for a period
of four weeks, and during this time the Beat Patrolmen be supplied with
pennies and courtesy cards to use for overtime parkers and instruct the
City Manager to set a meeting at 7 p.m. June 26th, with 'the businessmen to
determine whether this had solved their problems.
Motion by McCline seconded by Orendorff, 'that the following licenses be
granted: Roll Call - All ~fes.

Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the V.F.W. be granted 'their
request to hold Memorial services at the memorial site by the Municipal
Building on May 30th. Roll Call -All Ayes.
Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that the Mayor and Police Chief
be authorized to attend the Safety Presentation Dinner May 25th at 6 p.m.
at the Hotel Saint Paul. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the meeting adjourn at 11::55
p.m. Roll Call - Ail Ayes.

Special Meeting
June 8, 1961
Meeting called to order at 8 p.m. Roll Call: Armstrong, King,
Orendorff - present. MsCline, Chics - absent.
Opening of bids on gasoline and diesel fusl.
(~.~. McCtine arrived at Yhe meeting at 8:10, during bid opening)
Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that the bids be t~rned over to
the City Manager for tabulation, for award on Monday, June 12th. Roll
Call - All Ayes.
Bids on Project [$~!02 ~ere received from the following:
Walbon Excavating Co. Randall Bros.
Avoles Constr. Co. R.J. Potter, Inc.
Art Bolier Constr. Co, John A. Nelson Exc. Co.
Petrowske & Ross
Motion by McCline seconded by King, that bids on Project $~102 be turned
over to the City Manager for tabulation and award at the June 26th
meeting. Roll. Call - All Ayes.
Continued hearing held on sidewalk, East side of 5th Street between 49th
and 50th.
Motion by McCline seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager proceed
with the installation of this sidewalk when possible. Roll Call-All Ayes.
Continued hearing..held on sidewalk on.West side of 2~.Street, 37th to 38th.
~4otion'by .King seconded by Orendorff, .that the City Manager be authorized
~to Proceed..With the installation of.this Sidewalk, commencing at the
corner of 37th Avenue, northward to a point, in Lot 7 where the o~ner!.s
sidewalk goes out to the.street, this installation to be made when
possible. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Hearing held on Curb & Gutter on 42nd Avenue, Jefferson to Madison.
Motion'by King seconded by Orendorff, that the.request for this curbing
be denied, with the recommendation that the Engineer~supervise the con-
struction of a bituminous rolled type curb,'.if it is necessary to, Duevent
erosion of the property at 4200 Madison St. Roll Call - All Ayes.
The matter of curbing~42nd Avenue from jacksoh to 4th Street, Was dis-
cussed, and the Engineering department was instructed to consider this
as a project for the 1962 construction season.
~One additional bid for gasoline anddiesel fu~l was unearthed at 9:15,
from Mobil Oil Company, and it was opened at this time/
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that that the bid of Mobil Oil Co.
be included, in'the tabulation. ~ Roll Call - All Ayes.
~otion by King seconded by McCline,~ that approval be granted for 3
Firemen to attend the Convention at Pipestone, June 12,13,14, and allow-
able expenses be granted. Roll Call -.All Ayes.
Motion by King sec0n~ed by Orendorff, that approval be granted for up
to 9 persons to attend sessions pertaining to the±r Own- j~b' and re~' ~'
sponsibility, of the League of Minnesota Municipalities Convention in
S~.Paul, June 14,15,16, Roll Call - ~_ll Ayes.
Motion by McCline seconded by King, that expenses in the approximate
amount of $450.00 ~e allowed for the Civil Defense Director to attend
the United.States Civil Defense Council Conference in LosAngetes, Calif.
October~16th thru 20th. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, to grant permission to install
a private watermain to Henry Shoultz, 4411 Main Street, upon payment
of the proper fee.. Roll Call - All Ayes. ~.~
Motion by McCtine seconded by'King, that the application for off-sale
beer and'cigarette licenses for ~r. Zacharius, 4156 Central Avenue, be.
turned over to the Police Department for investigation and' report.

Motion by King seconded, by McCline, that the City Manager be authorized
to call for bids for Utilities in all areas not presently served in
Innsbruck, to be opened on June 26th. Roll.. Ca!l - All Ayes.
The Engineering Department presented two plans for suggested par~ing'i
area expansion for the Municipal building. The.City Engineer was asked to
investigate prices and types of a light or warning device at the inter-
section of A0th and Mill Street fDr the Fire Trucks.
