Roll Call -All Ayes. The City Engineer announced the tabulation of bids on re-location of Jackson Pond had been made. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that Park Construction Co. be awarded the bid in the amount of $70,550, to be completed by July 1, 1961, as per attached Bid Tabulation. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. Motion by Chies seconded by King, that Bryan Rock Products be paid the sum of $2,766.92, out of the proper funds. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by King seconded by McCline, that .~.~el j. Hartse be paid the sum of $583.20 out of the proper funds. Roll call - Ail Ayes~ Motion by Orendorff seconded by Chies, that the General City Election for two councilmen and mayor, be set for June 12, 19~1, and the primaries for May 22, 19~1, and the Liquor Referendum for June 12th. OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Special Meeting April 13, 1961 Meeting called to order at 12:05 p.m. Roll Call - Armstrong, McCline, Chies= present. King and Orendorff - absent. Resolution offered by McCline seconded by Chies, BE IT HEREBY resolved by the City of Columbia Heights: WHEREAS; the City has passed Ordinance No.511, authorizing the con- veyance of Lots One (1) and TWo (2), Block Two (2) Rearrangement of Block A, Columbia Heights Annex to Minneapolis, Anoka County, to the State of Minnesota, and WHEREAS; Prior to the said conveyance the said City's title of to said lots was conditioned on public use and, ~TTEREAS, It is in the best interest of the City that the title to the said property be acquired without the condition for public use. NOW THEREFORE BE'~IT RESOLVED, that the City Council does hereby approve the purchase of Lots 1 and 2, Block 2, Rearrangement of Block A, Columbia Heights Annex to Minneapolis, Anoka County, Minnesota, together with the vacated streets adjacent thereto, at the appraised value as set by the County ~oard of Commissioner of ~]oka County. Resolution offered by Chies seconded by McCline, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, That the City Manager be authorized to tender the sum of Fifty and 00/100 Dollars ($50.00), to the County Auditor of Anoka County, said sum being the appraisal value as set by the County Board of Anoka County on Lots 1 and 2, Block 2, Rearrangement of Block A, Columbia Heights Annex to Minneapolis, Anoka, Minnesota, together with the vacated streets adjacent thereto. Said tender to be made to purchase the said premises from the County. Roll Call - All Ayes. Armstrong & Chies - absent. Hearing held on'installation of utilities to serve Fillmore and Pierce Streets, north of 37th Avenue between Polk and Buchanan. Sketches were shown and a complete explanation made of these projects,by Mr. Dale Wick, Assistant Engineer, also estimated costs given. Motion by McCline seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with installation of Sewer and Water and street opening on Pierce Street north of 37th Avenue. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by McCline seconded by Orendorff, that the request for utilities to serve Fillmore Street be turned over to the City Manager for further investigation. Roll Call - All Ayes. Hearing held on installation of utilities to serve Ulysses Street between 39th and 40th. Sketches were shown and a complete explanation of this project made by ~. Dale Wick, also estimated costs given. Several drainage problems were discussed and the engineering department felt these could be taken care of. Motion by McCline seconded by Orendorff, that the City ~nager be authorized to proceed with atreet opening and installation of Sewer, Water and Storm sewer on Ulysses Street between Johnson & Hayes.
