Motion by King seconded Dy McCline, that 'the reading of the minutes
of the previous meeting ~e dispensed with, Roll Call - All Ayes.

Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the bid of Hopkins Motor Sales,
Inc. be accepted, for two Patroller~V-8.cylinder Plymouths, in -the amount
of $'3,306.46 with trade. -Roll Call - All Ayes.
'Hearing held on concrete paving in alley between 8th & 7th, from. 44th
to 45th.
Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that -the City Manager be 'authorized
to proceed, with installation of this concrete paving for 1981 construction
Roll Call - All Ayes.
Hearing held for Curb, Gutter and Blacktop for 7th.St. between 51st and
52nd Avenues.
Motion. by McCline seconded by King, 'that the City Manager be authorized
to proceed with the installation of curb on east side and blacktop
street for 7th Street between 51st and 52nd, Roll Call - All Ayes.
Hearing held for Curb, Gutter and Blacktop on 50th Avenue from 7th Street
to Washington.
Motion by Chies seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized
to proceed with installation, of C~b,Gutter.& Blacktop on-50th Avenue
7th to Washington, after storm sewer construction. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Second reading Ordinance No.502, being an ordinance vacating a portion of
a Utility easement over Lot 5 Block 4 Rearrangement of Block
Columbia Heights Annex to Minneapolis.
Offered by King seconded by Orendorff. Roll Call - All Ayes.
First reading Ordinance No.503, Rezoning Lots 18 thru 28, Block 2,
Mathaire, ~to R-2 classification. ..
First reading Ordinance No.504, Rezoning Lot 30, Block 20, Roslyn Park,
to.C, 2 Commercial classification.
A l~tter was 'reQeived from the Columbia Heights State Bank, petitioning
the City o'f colLimbia ~eights to vacate the East-West alley lying between
Lots 5 and 6, Block 82, C.H. Annex. ~
Motion by ICing seconded by. McCline, that this reqUestbe'referr.ed to the
City'Manager, Fire Department and Police Department, for a. report at the
next'council meeting. Roll Call - Ali Ayes.
A request was received from Mr. & Mrs. Ted Lorenz, 3700 California St.
for a street light to be installed at 37th & California. The. City"
Manager stated he would make an adjustment in the street lighting program
so that this can be granted.
A Petition was receiVed protesting -the moving of an old house to 4554
Taylor St. They were assured this house would be painted and fixed
up and also yard sodded and landscaped to make it look very presentable.
John Chudek Manager of Lak0tas Tavern, 4002 Central Ave. was present and
pr6tested theinStallation of a Telephone booth in ~c~u of his pi. ace of
business.
Motion by McCline seconded by Chies, that the City Manager be authorized
to contact the Telephone Company in regard to the removal of'Telephone
Booths on i~orthwest and'Southwest corners of 40th &' Central. Roll Call -
All Ayes.
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the list of Election Judges
as presented, be approved, as per attached list. Roll Call-All Ayes.
The City Manager reported that he and Mr, Brown had met with Gordon
Bodien and Bruce Corlett of the Minneapolis Water department regarding
a new water contract.
A Budget meeting was set for Thursday, October 27th at 7 p.m.
A letter was received from the Knights of Columbus in Columbia Heights,
regarding Christmas tree sales, and they were informed the fee was set
at $5.00.
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that Thursday, October 27th at 7 p.m.
be set as a special council meeting ~o take up the continued hearing on
Sanitary sewer extension on Reservoir Blvd. north of 44th Avenue. Roll
call -All Ayes.
Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized
to contact Bituminous Mix Suppliers, for bids on 800 tons more or less
of Winter mix patching material bids, to be opened Thursday, October 27th.
Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that hearings on assessments be
held at the November 14th meeting, as follows:

Motion by Chies seconded by King, that Petrowske & Ross be paid the
sum of 825,455.87, out of the prope~r funds. Roll Call - All kAyes.
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that Art Bolier be paid the sum
of $7,063.91, but of the proper funds. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by McCline seconded by King, that Art Bolier be paid the sum
of $19,380.00 on project ~6004. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Chies seconded by McCline, that Lametti & Sons be paid the
sum of $649.92, finishing out their contract on 49th Avenue extension.

$9,142.24, on their contract for storm sewer on 43rd Avenue.

Mot$on by McCline seconded by Chies, that Carlone Construction Co. be
paid the sum of $9,898.72, on innsbruck construction completed. Roll
Call - All Ayes:.
The City Attorney reported we will continue to hold money on Contract
for Project ~5900.
Motion by McCline sec'6nded by-Orendorff, that the City Manager be
authorized to advertise a hearing on Assessment Rolls $385 and ~386
for Project ~5900, at the November 14th meeting. Roll.Call-All..Ayes.
Motion by King seconded by Chies, that all licenses for the Redwood
Cafe, 513 - 40th Avenue in the name of Clifford E. Kardell, be rescinded.
Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Orendorff seconded by Chies, that the Restaurant License.be
granted to Duane L. Sims, 513 - 40th Avenue, upon payment of the'proPer
fee. Roll Call,- All Ayes.
Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the meeting~ adjourn at 11~30

Meeting called to order at 7:10 P.M. Roll Call - Armstrong, King, McCline, md
Orendorff present. Chies absent.
Hearing on sanitary sewer extension on Reservoir Blvd. from ~4th to 45th.
Motion by McCliue seconded by King that the City Mauager be authorized to proceed
with the extension of the sanitary sewer on the East side o~ 'Reservoir Blvd., 44-45,
as an addendum to the contract of Petrowski and Ross in the amount of $3,529.00.
Roll call - all ayes
Bids were received on winter grade black top material as follows:
Dunkley Surfacing Company $5.70 per ton, delivered
~.C.A. McCrossan Inc.~ 5.10 per ton, .delivered
Barton Contracting Co. 5.25 " " " , $4.50 per ton picked up.
Motion by King seconded by Orendorff that the bid of. C. S. _McCrossan for winter .
grade patching material in the amount of $5.10 per ton be accepted.
