Motion by McCline seconded by Orendorff, that the reading of the minutes of the last regular and special meetings be dispensed with. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by McCline seconded by Orendorff, that Petrowske & Ross be awarded the bid on Project ~6029 in the amount of $69,014.00. Roll Cal'i.='All Ayes. continued hearing on alley opening between Jackson & Quincy, south of 40th Avenue. The City'Manager reported that Mr. Sather of Pek's Lbr. Co. has agreed to move the l~ber piles 10 feet further to the south so that a fence could be put up along this line, if the City would agree to install a chain link fence. Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with this alley opening between Quincy & Jackson, south of 40th Avenue and opening onto Jackson Street, using the 10 foot easement from Pek's Lbr. Co., including the installation of a chain link fence. Roll Call - All Ayes. Hearing held on Curb,Gutter and Blacktop for 46th Avenue, 7th to Jefferson; 47th Avenue 7th t~ Jefferson and Washington St. 46th to 47th. --" Motion by McCline seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be author- ized to proceed with these improvements for the 1961 construction period. Roll Call - All Ayes. Hearing he~d-for sidewalk on east side of 4th Street 50th to 51st. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be autho~ to proceed, with the installation of this sidewalk on 4th Street. Roll Call - All Ayes. A hearing was held on Curb, Gutter and Blacktop Street for 7th Street between 47th and 48th. The City Manager reported that the cost for said installation was estimated at 82.70 for Curb & Gutter and $3.30 for Blacktop surfacing. Hearing held on alley opening between VanBuren and Central, 42nd to 43rd. Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the City Manager.be authorized to proceed with this alley opening, Project %299. Roll Call - All Ayes. Hearing held on alley opening between jackson & VanBuren, from 44th to 45th. Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with this alley opening, Project %326. Roll Call -All Ayes. Hearing held on alley opening between Madison & jefferson,from 43rd-44th. Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with this alley opening, and proceed with the necessary pro- curement of land. Proje=t %366. Roll Call - All Ayes. Hearing held on Street opening, 43% Avenue between Central & McLeod. ~ This will be re-advertised with this correct description. Project %369. Hearing held on Alley surfacing between Polk & Tyler, fron 37th to 39th. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with this alley surfacing, and also move the necessary poles. Roll Call -All Ayes. Project %370. Hearing held on alley opening between 5th & 6th Streets from 45th-46th. Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with this alley opening, Project %371. Roll Call - All Ayes. Resolution offered by King seconded by McCline, BE IT H~REBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that the City Treasurer be and she is hereby instructed to transfer from the Liquor Fund as follows: $8,738.70 to the Fire Fund 500.00 to the Band Fund and that there are sufficient moneys in said Liquor Fund to make such transfer. Roll Call -All Ayes. A Petition was received for Concrete alley between 6th & 7th Streets, from 47th to 48th. Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the City Manager be authorised to Ddver~ise a healing on this alley surfacing, August 22, 1960. Roll Call - All Ayes. The Police Department reported that complaints had been received on noise at Trampoline at 4635 Central Ave. Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the City Attorney be instructed to write a letter to the owner of the Trampoline at 4635 Central Ave. regarding a 11 p.m. closing hour. Roll call - All Ayes. A letter was received from Mr. Ray Sauber of 1121 - 44th Avenue, and he was also present at this meeting, in regards to a drainage problem which he has. It was decided to arrange a meeting with his neighbors and Mark Z.Jones, and the City Attorney was asked to contact Mr. Jones to arrange for him to be present at this meeting. A Petition was received ~Or Curb,'Gutter & BlacktOp on 7th Street, 5~-52. Motion by McCline seconded b~King, that a hearing be held on this improvement on September 12th. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that Mrs. Marian Phelps,~2210 45th AvenUe and Mr. C.L. McCline, 4009 Arthur St. be appointed to-the Library Board. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be authorized to advertise a hearing for street openings between Monroe and Central, from 49th to 51st, for the September 12th meeting. Roll Call --All-Ayes. Authorization was asked for land purchase for new street 330' West of Buchanan Street, North of 37th Avenue. Project $380. Motion by King seconded by McCline, that this request for authorization of purchase of land, be ta~ed until the next meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. The City Manager and Engineer.discussed the situations described in Mr. Lahti's letters in respect to 4600 Jefferson St. and Ulysses St. south of 40th Avenuej Curb~ Gutter and Blacktop has been authorized on 46th Avenue ~he~e the wash-outs had occurred. Ulysses St. has been staked out but no deeds received from the adjoining property owners as yet. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that the CitYManager be authorized to complete the purchase of Lots 1 thru 8, Block 2, Walton's 1st Sub~ division of Reservoir Hills,.South of 40th Avenue and West of Polk at. for the sum of $4600.00. and that the City Treasurer be authorized to draw a check in.the amount of $4600.00 to Donald Plocho~ci and wife. Motion by'~MCClihe seconded byOrendorff, that the City Manager be authorizedlto ~advertise a hearing for alley surfacing between Polk and Tyler, from 39th to 40th on September 12 1960. Roll Call -All Ayes - 'Moti°nby McCline seconded.by orendorff, that Marvin Peterson, 4748 - 7th Street be paid the sum of 8300.00, out of the proper funds; Houser Corp. and Internal Revenue Dept. ~be paid the sum of $2,848.50; and ~yron p. Nelson be paid the sum of $1,097.50, oUt of the proper funds. Roll Call -All Ayes. Motion by McCline seconded by Orendorff, that the following estimates be paid: Axel J. Hartse $4,092.25 Art Bolier Constr. Co. 26,243175 Lametti & Sons 13,000.00 Chics Bros. 14,192.93 O. Dreudahl & Sons 14,794.51 out of the proper funds as soon as money is available from the bond sale. Motion by Orendorff seconded by McCline, that the following licenses be granted: Hoffman"s Electric Service, 4736 Pleasant Ave. Electrical Texaco Company 4357 Central Ave. 2 Gas-pumps upon payment of the proper fee. Resolution o~ered by Orendorff seconded by McCline, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that the North Sub- urban Hospital Committee be and is hereby authorized to turn over to the T~easurer of the North Suburban Hospital Board, , the sum of 8799.00, which are surplus funds remaining in the treasury of the North Suburban Hospital Committee. Motion by Chies seconded by King, that the reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting be dispensed with, with correction made in Resolution regarding Suburban Hospital Board.
