Victor Carlson & Sons Motion by McCline seconded by ~King, that these bids be turned over to the City Engineer for tabulablon. Roll Call - All Ayes. Bids on the sale of City Owned property were received as per attached tabulation. Motion by King seconded by McCline, that these bids be turned over to the City Manager for tabulation and awarded at the next regular meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. Bids on Gasoline, Deisel Fuel and Ethyl Gasoline were received from the following: Erickson Petroleum Co. Mobile Oil Co. Ford Deep Rock Oil Co. Emerson Mobile Service Motion by Chies seconded by King, that these bids be rejscted and. the City ~anager be authorized to re-advertise for bids to be opened at the June 13th meeting. 'Roll Call - All' Ayes. ~ids for Towing Contract were received from Emerson Mobile Service and Johnson Standard Station. .Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that Emerson Mobile Service be awarded the bid on Towing service at $3.00 for days and $4.00 for night, Outdoor storage $.50 per day and Indoor storage $1.00 per day. Roll Call - All Ayes. Continued hearing held on alley paving between 5th & 6th from 41st to 42nd. The Engineer reported there would be an additional charge of $1.25 per foot for installation of drains to service this alley. ~otion by .King seconded by Orendorff, that this hearing on alley paving be continued until the June 13th meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. Hearing held on alley opening between Tyler and Polk from 46th to 47th. Motion by Orendorff seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with this alley opening. Roll Call - All Ayes. Hearing held on watermain for 3rd Street from 38th to 40th Avenue. Motion by Orendorff seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with this watermain on 3rd Street from 38th to 40th. Roll Call - All Ayes. First reading of Ordinance No.487, Being an Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance regulating the installation, operation and maintenance of Electric Wires, apparatus and plants within the City of Columbia Heights; and repealing ordinances in conflict herewith. Resolution offered by Chies seconded by King, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City-of ColumbiaHeights, ~that the City Treasurer be and she is hereby instructed to transfer from the Liquor Fund as follows: $10,677.22 to the Fire Fund and that there are sufficient moneys in said Liquor Fund to make such transfer. Roll Call - All Ayes. Recess called at 9:35 p.m. Meeting cal~led to order at 9:45 p.m. Request received to plat 5~th Avenue west from Central Avenue. Motion by Chies seconded by King, that a hearing be set for the opening of 50th Avenue to Robbies Addition, at the June 13th meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the request of the Fire Chief to send five members of the Fire Department to the Convention at Cloquet, Minn. June 12,13,14 & 15, be granted with expenses paid. Roll Call-All Ayes. A request was received from Lyndale Builders for curb, gutter and blacktop surfacing for property on 49th, 49½ and 50th Avenues, east of Monroe, as well as 46th Avenue east from Washington, and Washington and ~efferson from 46th to 46½ Avenues. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that a hearing be set for June 13th meeting for curb, gutter and blacktop surfacing between 49th and 51st from Monroe to Central, excluding areas where these were already authorized. Roll Call - All Ayes. The request for private utility lines to serve 3930 University Avenue was discussed. B & M Inc. have agreed to give easement along their property to allow these connections to be made from 40th Avenue. Motiom by Chies seconded by Orendorff, that a permit be granted to 3930 University Ave. to connect sewer and water from 40th Avenue. Roll Call - All Ayes. The City Manager reported regarding the request for Curb,Gutter and Blacktop on 51st Avenue between Washingt6n & Jefferson, that he would not recommend these improvements at this time as a delay will mean some State Aid funds will be available for this Avenue from University to Central. The City Manager reported the Civil Defense generator is being installed under the meter rQom behind the Fire Station. Also the ventilating system at the Liquor Store has been cleaned up and re-conditioned. The City Council asked that a meeting be held with the Charter Commission at 7 p.m. June 27th. The City Engineer reported plans for utility installations in Innsbruck would be ready June 13th. Also plans were ready for Storm sewer into Silver ~ake. Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the City Manager be authorized to advertise for bids on Tyler and 43rd Avenue storm sewer, to be opened June 13th. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by McCline seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be author- ized to advertise for bids on Silver Lake Laterals as soon as plans are ready. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Chies seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized · to advertise for bids on general bituminous paving as specified, to be opened at June 13th meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be authorized to advertise for bids on installation of Curb, Gutter, Gravel Base and Blacktop surfacing in Sheffield Addition, to be opened at June 13th Meeting, Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by King seconded by Mc~line, that the final Plat of Julian Johnson Addition be accepted upon payment of the proper fee. Roll .Call - All Ayes. , Motion by McCline seconded by King, that Steve Hudak,Jr., 4558 - 6th Street be paid the amount of $281.00 to conform to the condemnation awards. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that the license fee be refunded for Off-Sale Beer application for 4156 Central, which was denied at the May 9th meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Orendorff seconded by King, that the following Licenses be granted Upon payment of the proper fee, with the exception of the Off-Sale Beer license, which should be referred to the Police Department: Roll Call - Ail Ayes. Motion by Chies seconded by King, that Sandstrom & Hafner be paid the sumc, of $15,473.79, out of the proper funds. Roll Call - All Ayes~ Motion by King seconded by Chies, that the City Attorney be authorized to draw up an ordinance for the sale of lot to A.A. for meeting quarters, with reverter clause. (Lot 50, Block 88,C.H. Annex) Roll Call-All Ayes. Motion by Chies seconded by McCline, that the City Manager and Mayor be authorized to enter into an agreement with the City of Fridley~ Northern Ordinance Co. regarding alternate sewerage disposal.
