Invocation offered by Reverend Goetze of Calvary Covenant Church. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The City Manager'rePorted on appraisal of City owned lots adjacent to parking lot of Minneapolis Steel Castings Co. which they have requested to purchase. ~ Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized to negotiate with Minneapolis Steel Castings Co. for the sale of City owned lots at the appraised value or more. Roll Call;- All Ayes. The City Manager reported that the Minneapolis Gas Company wished to meet with the council regarding increase in ~rates. The Council asked that the City Manager try and arrange a meeting for Saturday morning at9a.m. al The installation of additio~parking meters was discussed. Motion by King seconded by ~Cline, that the City Manager be authorized to have ~F~ka~ parking meters installed on 40th Avenue west from where they presently end to Jackson Street on both sides.of street. An invitation was received to attend the Unicom II Division meeting on Jan~uary 20, 1960 at 7:45 p.m. The Mayor,-two councilmen and City Manager agreed to attend. · A letter was received requesting three more taxi cab license to be issued to Heights Taxicab Company. The City Attorney was asked to · look into this request and report back. The City Engineer reported that an interesting two days had been spent by himself and Dale Wick, at the University attending the Engineer's Conference January 7th and 8th.. The City Atto~R~y reported he had met with Mr. Hoium, attorney for Mrs. Adina .Ottem and they are ready to close the deal. The matter of the Beer Tavern at 500 - 40th Avenue was brought up and the following motion prevailed: Motion by McCline seconded by King, that all Licenses ~eld by Mrs. Leora Esterly be revoked. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by King seconded by Chies, that the following estimates be paid out of the proper funds: Ridgeway Construction Co. $3,984.12 Roll Call - All Ayes.
