Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that we dispense with the

Motion by King seconded by_Orendorff, that these bids for custodial
services be turned over to the City Manager for tabulation. Roll
Call - Ail Ayes.
A request for a private water main to service 241 - 42nd Ave. was
received from Ed. Chics for a home he is ~uilding there.
Motion by McCline seconded by Orendorff, that this request be granted
upon payment of the proper fee and approval of the plumbing inspector.
Roll Call - All Ayes.
A letter was received from the Anoka Count~ A~d~tor asking the City
Council approval of the sale of Lot 25, Block ll, Roslyn Park at the
next County forfeit tax sale.
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that this request be granted.
Roll Call - All Ayes.
The City Manager reported regarding the fatal accident at 49th and
Tyler St.N.E. on November 5th, and stated every precaution had been
taken and it was regrettable that this happened.
Rmquest was received from Mrs. Carl Johnson to immediately close the
parking area on Mill Street across ~tom the Municipal Building.
She was informed that nothing would be done regarding this parking
area until the 1960 construction season, when a new roadway would
be made.
The City Manager reported regarding the request of Lyndale Builders to
rezone to R-C Lots 26 & 27, Block 20, C.H. Annex so they could build an
ll-unit apartment. A hearing will be held by the Planning & Zoning
Commission on December 1, 1959.
Also a hearing will be held December 1, 1959 to rezone to R-C, Lots 35,36,
37,38 and the south 42' of Lots 15,16,17,18, Block 5,Reservoir Hills, as
requested by John Hanson, as he would like to build three ll-unit apart-
ments. (On 40th Avenue east of Central Ave.)
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the City Manager be authorized
to purchase ten tickets from the Fire Fighters Welfare Association, for
their Annual Ball to be held December 7, 1959 at the Mpls. Auditorium.

Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the City Manager be authorized
to advertise a hearing for November 23, 1959 on adopting assessment rolls
for the following improvements:

The City Engineer presented the M~nroe Addition Plat as recommended
by the Planning & Zoning Commission.
Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that this plat be accepted pro-
vided the outstanding special assessments are paid and a ten foot ease-
ment is secured on the north side of 49th Avenue. Roll Call - Ail Ayes.
The City Engineer reported that a letter had been received from R.D.
Thomas &Associates giving an estimated cost for completion of the
storm sewer necessary to serve the new high school and Central Avenue
to the now existing drain that empties into Sullivan Lake of $56,000.00.
A l~tter was received from the City of Fridley asking Columbia Heights
to share in the cost of alleviating the drainage problem at 53rd and
University, by construction of a catch basin at the N.E. corner to
connect in with a reported metal culvert under Highway %56, westward
to connect in with an existing 48" storm sewer manhole.
Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the CityManager be authorized
to enter into an agreement with the City of Fridley for this storm
sewer, and our share not to exceed 8500.00. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the City ~nager be authorized
to spend up to $1,000.00 for Winter Mix Blacktop. Roll Call_- All Ayes.
The City Engineer reported on condemnations of land, which are to be
used for various projects.
Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the following estimates be
paid out of.the proper funds: ~oll Call - All Ayes.

Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that Ridgeway Construction Co.
be paid the sum of $213.00 for installation of overhead doors in Meter
Shop. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that Ridgeway Construction Co.
be paid the sum of $17,936.46, out of the proper funds. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the meeting adjourn at
10:05 p.m. Roll Call - All Ayes.
