Motion by Chies seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with this work as recommended by the City Engineer. Roll Call - All Ayes. Continued hearing held on Curb & Gutter on Edgemoor from 3rd to 2½ Street. Motion by Julkowski seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with this Curb & Gutter installation, upon recommendation of the City Engineer. Roll Call - All Ayes. Continued hearing held on Sewer & Water, installation, West side of Central from 49th to 50th. Motion by Julkowski seconded by King, that this ~ea~ing be continued until the July 27th Council meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. Hearing held on replacement of sidewalk on VanBuren Street between 39th and 40th Avenues. Motion by King seconded by Chies, that this hearing be continued until the July 13th Council meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. A request was received for Sewer & Water installation on Pierce Street between 46th and 47th, by Mr. Bob Bird. Motion by Chies seconded by Julkowski, that a Hearing be held on this project July 13th. Roll Call - All Ayes. A request was received from George Steiskal, 4050 Main Street for a private sewer connection. Motion by King seconded by Julkowski, that this request be granted, upon payment of the proper fee. Roll Call - All Ayes. A request wa~ received ~rom Robert E. Hafenstein, 4514 b~nroe Street for a private watermain. Motion by Julkowski seconded by King, that this request be granted upon payment of the proper fee, and to the satisfaction of the present owners of the present line. Roll Call - All Ayes. The City Manager presented a bill from the State of Minnesota in the amount of $2,580.00 for our share of payment for traffic signal at 40th and University Ave. N.E. Motion by Julkowski seconded by King, that this bill be paid and charged to street department. Roll Call - All Ayes. The CSty Engineer presgnted an itemized estimate of Bianconi Construction Co. snowing a balance ~ue at this time of $9,407.33. Motion by Chics seconded by King, that this estimate be paid.' Roll Call - All Ayes. The City Engineer presented an estimate for Randall Bros. in the amount of $6,818.27, for installation of pressure reducing station. Motion by Julkowski seconded by King, that this estimate be paid at this time out of the proper funds.· Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Julkowski seconded by King, authorizing the City Manager to hire a stump removal service for removal of stumps as listed by the City Engineer, for an amount up to $990.00. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Julkowski seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with the lowering of grade and watermain at 43rd & Benjamin as necessary. Roll Call - All Ayes~ Motion by King seconded by Chics, that Lyndale Builders Third, Addition Plat be accepted subject to the approval of the City Attorney and County Surveyor, and provided the remaining special assessments be paid. Roll Call - A~ll Ayes. Motion by King seconded by Chics, that the license application of Leo Kraska for 3911 University, be tabled until the next meeting, as recommended by the City Attorney. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by King seconded by Chics, that the license application of J.G. Ralston, 1317 Nicollet Ave. for a vending truck, be granted, as recommended by the City Attorney. Roll Call - All Ayes. . First reading of Ordinance No.459, An ordinance granting unto Suburban Sanitation Corporation, a Minnesota Corporation, its successors and assigns, a Franchise and right for a period of 10 years to maintain and operate a garbage and rubbish incinerator for the burning of Garbage and rubbish from the City of Columbia Heights as well as from other Municipalities; to use and occupy the Streets, Avenues, Alleys, Bridges and other public places of said City with sanitation trucks and other motor vehicle~ carriers and other necessary or useful equipment for the picking up and hauling of such garbage, and refuse to said incin- erator plant for the inhabitants of said Municipalities, and others; providing for regulation of rates or charges; for the election by the municipality of the type of service; and providing for authorization to charge and collect rates for services; and prescribing the terms and conditions of the grant and the penalty'for the violation of the same. Motion by Chics seconded by King, that Frank Golusky be paid the sum of $681.00 in full settlement of claim, also Alice Korst the sum of .$500.00 in full settlement of claim. Roll Call - All Ayes.
