Stopka - absent~ Councilman Julkowski presided as Chairman. Minutes of the last regular and special meetings were read and approved. McDonald 16.50 TOTAL $40,891.85 A Hearing was held for Curb & Gutter on Pierce Terrace in Mathaire. Motion by Proft seconded by Chies, that this hearing be continued until the October 13th meeting. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. ~ A Hearing was held on b~acq~t~p surfacing of 41st Avenue from Reservoir to Stinson Blvd. Since this area is presently being re-worked it was decided to proceed with the re-~orking in lieu of a new blacktop mat. A hearing was held on alley opening between 2nd and 2½ Streets from 38th Avenue to Edgemoor. The Engineer reported the cost of opening this alley and installation of a storm sewer which would be needed, would be approximately $1.15 per foot, and easements would also be needed to install this storm sewer. Motion by Chies seconded by King, authorizing the City~nager to. proceed with the opening of this alley. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by King seconded by Proft, that Ordinance No.409 be taken from the table. Roll Call - All Ayes. SEcond reading of Ordinance No.409, re-zoning the Hart Lake area to Multiple dwelling status. Offered by Chies seconded by King. Roll call - King, Julkowski, Chies, Proft - No. S~cond reading of Ordinance No.411, re-zoning to commercial Lot 30, Block 20, Roslyn Park. Offered by King seconded by Chies. Roll Call - King, Julkowski, Chies, Proft - No. Second reading of Ordinance No.414, re-zoning to commercial Lots 16-19, Block 12, Roslyn Park. Offered by Proft seconded by Chies. -Roll Call - King, Julkowski, Chies, Proft - No. Second reading of Ordinance No.417, sale of Real Estate. Offered by King seconded by Proft. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. SEcond reading of Ordinance No.418, sale of real estate. Offered by Proft seconded by King. Roll Call - All Ayes. A Petition was received to vacate alley west of Quincy, south o~ An ordinance will be prepared for the next regular meeting. A request was received for private sewer for 1313 - 37th Avenue. Motion by Chies seconded by King,~-~fchat this request be granted, upon payment of the proper fee. Roll Call -All Ayes. An invitation was received to the Metropolitan Planning Commission hearing September 24th, and also to the County CommissiOn's mee~ing September 23rd at 7:30 p.m. A land offer was received for street widening at Royce and Lean¢[er. Motion by King seconded by Proft, that this land offer be turne¢ over~.~ to the City Engineer for further study. Roll Call -All Ayes The Engineer reported on alley between 37th and 39th, east of ~ lk and stated he is arranging a meeting with home owners. The Engineer reported on the cost of installing sewer on Arthur between 42nd and 43rd, estimated now at $5.00 per front foot, ~d the possibility of Minneapolis agreeing to pay a share of this :ost. The Engineer reported on the consideration on land acquisition ~or 41½ Avenue, west from Reservoir. Motion by Proft seconded by K.ng, authorizing the City Manager to get a land appraisal of Lot 51, Block 4, Reservoir Hills. Roll Call - All Ayes. M~k~x~ A budget meeting was set with the Park'Board at 7 p.m.~ Monday, September 29th, and at 8 p.m. with the Recreation Depar'~ent. Motion by King seconded by Proft, authorixing the City ManageraDO~ attend the Regional Federal Management Conference, to be held the Curtis Hotel, October 2nd and 3rd, 1958. Roll Call - All AI~s. A meeting was set with the Auditor's for Thursday, September 25 at 9 p.m. to discuss the present audit. A meeting with the Architects was set for Saturday, September 2'Tth, at 11 A.M. to discuss the new police and fire building. The City Manager reported the re-zoning of 39th & Jefferson was denied by the Planning & Zoning Commission. Motion by King seconded by Chies, that Gust Holm Contracting Cc. be,paid the sum of $4,036.01, out of the proper funds. Roll Call - all ayes. 39th. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. 8566 Galligher Road 4010 Central Avenue Rubbish Shuffle Board Juke Box The matter of Lange Welding premises was brought up and the City Attorney stated a report will be made at the next regular meeting. Zoning of 40th and University was brought up and complaints of, present operations there. The City Manager and Attorney will look over the situation. Mr. Getsug of Central Plaza Shopping Center was present regarding ' his request to connect to our sewer, but there was nothing new to report. A Petition was received for installation of Arc light at 40th & Johnson and 40th & Polk. Motion'by Chies seconded by King, that this petition be placed on file. Roll Call - All Ayes. A Petition was received to open Washington, Street between 46th and 47th. Motion by King seconded by Proft, that this petition be turned over to the Planning & Zoning Commission.
