August 25,
Meeting called to order at 8 p.m. Roll Call - King, Julko~
Chics, Proft - present. Stopka - absent. Mr. Julkowski pres
as Chairman.
A letter was received from the Hilltop Village Council statin
they would be unable to meet with Columbia Heights Council un
after September 14th.
Motion by Chics seconded by King, authorizing the City of Col
Heights to accept the surfacing rights to Reservoir Boulevard
Roll Call -All Ayes.
Motion by King seconded by Proft, that Barton Contracting Co.
be awarded the bid to surface Reservoir Blvd. for a total amo
of 875,202.71. Roll Call -All Ayes.
A Hearing was held on laying base on 45th Avenue between Uni~
and 6th Street.
Motion by Proft seconded by Chics, that the City Manager be
to proceed with the laying of base on 45th Avenue between Uni
and 6th Street. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A Hearing was held on installation of Sanitary Sewer on Tyler
ho~h of 43rd Avenue.
Motion by King seconded by Proft, that the City Manager be au
t= have this sanitary sewer installed. Roll Call - All Ayes
A petition was received from property owners in the 4300 bloc
Tyler Street opposing any assessment for this Sanitary sewer
are now served by City sewer and have paid for same.
Motion by Proft seconded by Chics, placing this petition date
August 22nd, 1958 on file. Roll Call - All Ayes.
The Engineer and City'Manager were requested to check some ne'
construction as to grades and location conformance in the vic
of ~3rd and Tyler Street.
The City Engineer reported that Crown Sidewalk & Block Co. ha'
agreed to grant consideration on the sidewalk installation cl

Regarding \the sewer capacity for Central Plaza a report was r :ad
Mrl Hosch was present and repOrted that'On 50th Aven~e from University
Avenue for about"150' something should be done to stabilize this street
as it is being washed out.
Motion by King seconded by Proft, that the necessary stabilizing be put
in on 50th~Avenue %~est from University. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Mr. Chies reported on 41st Avenue east from Reservoir Blvd. particularly
at Silver Lake School and asked if something could be done. The engineer
was asked to make a study of this matter and report to the next meeting.
