A Hearing was held on Sidewalk west side ~ 6th Street between 45th-
and 46th.
Motion by Julkowski seconded by Chies, that the City Manage~ be
authorized to proceed with the installation of this sidewalk.'

A Hearing was held for alley surfacing between Polk & Tyler from
37th to 39th, held over from the June 9th meeting. Watermain in. alley
is causing considerable trouble.
Motion by King seconded by Proft, that a hearing be set for August
llth, for replacing Watermain in alley between Polk & Tyler, 37-39.

Motion by Chies seconded by King, that the hearing on alley surf
between Polk & Tyler, 37-39, be laid on the table. Roll Call -
A hearing was held on alley surfacing between 4th and 5th from 5
to 53rd.

on Monday, August 18th, with Mr. Shattuck. Roll Call - All ~

Motion by Chies seconded by King, re-appointing Mrs. Gilbert Miller,
Mrs. Roy Hilton'and Mrs. W.H. Hayes to the Library Board for three

install a private water line to service 3856 University Avenue, upon

The City Attorney asked for adthoriz~oh to start rewriting obsolete
Ordinances, etc. as requested by the Auditors.
Motion by Julkowski seconded by Proft, that the City Attorney
be authorized to proceed with the'~writing of obsolete'Ordinances,
up to an expenditure of $1,000.-00, and bill not to be presented until
after the first of the year. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Resolution offered by Chies seconded by Proft, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED
by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that the City
Treasurer be and she is hereby instructed to transfer from the Liquor
Fund as follows: $500.00 to the Band Fund, and that there are
sufficient moneys in said Liquor fund to make such transfers.

Motion by King seconded by Proft, that a Used Car Lot license be
granted to B. Julkowski, 3932 Central Avenue. Roll Call - King,
Chies, Proft, Stopka - yea. Julkowski abstained from voting.
The City M~nager brought up the matter of parking meters in the
business district. The Council stated they would prefer a reques
direct from the business men to have meters installed.
