The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the street p~ogram for this year and progress being made. It-was suggested that a ContraCtor be hired for black- topping, so that more work could be completed thisyear~ Motien by King seconded by Julkowski, that the.City M~ager b~ J_ustructed to advertise for bids for constructing base and smr£acingi and an alternate bid, for base only and surfacing only, 15,000 squar~ yards more or less. Roll Call - All Ayes. A Hearing was held on the University Avenue Store sewer project, Several representatives from Fridley Village were present, ~. Dencker gave a detailed report of the area to be benefitted and also estimated cost. Recess called at 9 P.M, Meeting called to order at 9:20 P.M. Motion by Julko~-zski seconded by Kin§, that the City Council are in favor of negotiating an agreement ~-~th the Village of Fyi, dley for a Storm~ Sewer in the University Avenue project, . Roll Call - All Ayes. Fridley~ Village expect to hold a Hearing on August 6th, on this stor~ sewer project, Columbia Heights City Council and Fridley Village Council agreed to hold a joint meet. Lug on August 8th, at 8 P.M., or an alternate date of August 14th, to discuss this storm sewer project. A Hearing was held on concrete sidewalk and curb for 45th Avenue south sid% fr~m, 4th Street west to ~lley. Motion by Julkowski seconded by King, a~thorizi~ng the City Manager to proceed wit[h this wor~. Roll Call - _~1! Ayes. A ~ontinued Hearing wa~ held for Sidewalk on 5~h Street~ 47~h to 48th Avenue. A continued Hearing ~as held on Stor~ Sewer for Anderson Addition. Motion by King seconded by Julkowski, authorizing thee City Manager to proceed with obtaini~ cost figures on land acquisition and obtain easements, for this project. Roll Call - All Ayes. Nmtion by Chies seconded by King, that the City Malinger be instructed to advertise for bids for the installation of a Storm Sewer in Anderson Addition, at such time as the land for the pouding'area is acquired. Motion by King seconded by Julko~ski, that a Hearing be set for the next regular Meeting, August 12th, for repair 'of Sanitary Set:er on ~3rd Avenue ~oetween Central and McLeod Street. Resolution'offered by Julkowski seconded by King, %~REAS, the County Board of the County of Anoka did adopt a resolution on July 8th, 19~7, locating, establishing, designating, and numbering the County State-Aid Highway system of Anoka County, a%d WHEREAS, said resolution locate~ and established certain County State-Aid Highways within the corporate 1Lmits of the (City of Columbia Heights, NOW TI~2~OREBE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Colum. bia Heights, 'that the resolution adopted by the County Board, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a p~rt thereof, locating or establishing the County State-Aid Highway system within the City limits, is in all things approved. Olson, Sidney Johnson and &imself would like permission to tap in on the existing w~termain on Lakeview Drive in Moundsview To,reship. This w~s deferred until the meeting of August 12th. Motion by Julkowski seconded by King, that the matter of request to connec~ to our wrater on Lakeview drive, be laid on the table. Roll Call - All Ayes. An application was received for a used car Lot License for 4029 Central Avenue. Motion by Julkowski seaonded by Chies, that a license be ~ranted to Bob Bergstrom~ 4029 Central, for a used car lot. Roll call - AL1 ayes. The Alley west of Central, between ~Oth and ~st was reported in bad condition. Everet~ C~llins was oresent and asked that his property at ~Oth & University be re-zoned to industrial for his trucking operatiohs. He was asked to bring i~ a Petition ~o the next meeting from the residents within ~00 feet, stating they have no objections to such re-zoning.
