The engineer recommends that bids be rejected as' the tractor as per ~pecifications ~s too light. Motibn by Julkow~ki seconded by Knutson, that these bid~ on an Industrial type Tractor be rejected. A Hearing washeld on asphalt mat in alley between Reservoir Blvd. and Tyler Street, from 37th to 39th Avenues. Resolution offered by Ju]~owski seconded by King, be ~it HEREBY :RESOLVED ' by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with the inst_~lation of Asphalt Mat in alley between Reservoir Blvd. and Tyler, from 3?th to 39th Avenues. 'Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by King seconded by Julkowski, authorizing the City.Manager to advertise for bids for Asphalt Mat as per specLfications. Roll C~11 - Ail Ayes. Motion by Cheis seconded by King, that a special meeting be set for Monday, July 15th, at 7:30 P.M. to discuss the street program. Roll C~1 - All Ayes. · A Hearing was held on Sidewalk for 5th Street between 47th and 48th. The City Engineer reported that sidewalk could not be construct~ on the east side in its normal location without considerable excavation. He was asked to contact the~ people in this block. Motion by King seconded by Cheis, that this hearing be continued until the July 22nd meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Julkowski seconded by King, that the Hearing on the Fridley- Columbia Heights-Highway Department Storm Sewer Project, be changed from July 23rd to July 22nd. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. The City Engineer reported the need for a study of the storm drainage pro~hlems of the City as a ~hole, and he was asked to get the cost from several Engineering Firms for this information. The City Man~er reported on the Hilltop water situation and stated no definite plans have been made to hook up to Minneapolis water, and that they wanted an extension on our water shut-off. Motion by Julkowski seconded by Kin~ that we extend the H~lltop Village water shut-off until August 12, 1957. Roll 0~11 - All Ayes. Motion by King seconded by Cheis, authorizing the City ~uager to inspect the shut off of storm water into our sanitary sewer, and Lf Tr~iler City has not corrected this, shut off their water. Roll C~11 - All Ayes. The City Manager reported regarding his investigation of demands for the purchase of a wholesale bar license for the Municipal Liquor Store. Motion by Julkowski seconded by King, that $642.20 be paid to the U.S. AlcohOlic & Tax Division, for the years 1952 to 1956 inclusive. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. The request of John Seman to pave a~!ey with aspha~lt, between Central and VanBuren, 39th to 4Oth, was discussed and it was suggested that a Petition be circulated. A request was received from A.F. Graczyk, 4456 - 4th Street, for curb and sidewalk on south side of 45th Avenue from 4th Street to al~ line west of 4th Street. Motion by Cheis 'seconded by Julkowski, that a hearing be set for July 22nd on this project. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. ~e request of the Board of Education to cancel certain Special Asseszments, was taken up. ~Motion by King seconded by Cheis, that this request be laid on the table until ~he next meeting, July 22nd. A letter was received from State iCuditor regarding unpaid bill fer audit. Motion by King seconded by Cheis~ that the bill for ~6~,2~1.76 plus 8% interest, be paid, Roll Call - All Ayes.
