A Petition was ~received for street opening ~ Avenue from Central to McLeod. Motion by Hosch seconded by Holm, that th~s~ Petition be referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission for recommendation to the~ City Council. Roll Call - All AYes. The ~.~tter of re-locating gas mains to enable the installation of the North Trunk Sewer, was discussed. Several representatives from the Minneapolis Gas Company were present also. Motion by Hosch seconded ~y HoLm, instructing the City Engineer to proceed ~th the North Trunk Se~£er construction, and instruct the City Manager to notify the Minneapolis Gas Company to re-locate their gas mains in order to enable the installation of Sanitary Sewer on ~th Street from ~7th to' ~7~- Avenue~ also ~th Street from ~6th to ~Sth Av~enue and o~ ~Sth Avenue from ~th Street to 3rd Street N.E. A letter was received from Mi~ton G. Ouimette, Hilltop Village attorney, asking t~at Columbia Heights continue to furnish water to ~ltop V~l~ge until they could complete the transfer of obtaining water from~Minneapolis. Motion by Hosch seconded by Julkowski, that the City Manager withhold the order for cutting off the H~top ¥~lage water supply until after the meeting of July 8th, and that the City Manager contact the ~il~top V~age to see ~at' construction steps have been taken. Roll Call - ~]~ Ayes. A letter was received from Andrew Gavel regarding a drainage problem.betweea 44th and 45th east of Central. This was referred to the City EngineAr for investigation. · A letter was received from Kenneth W. Campbell, Amoka.Oounty .~_,~itor, stating that the-County Board of Commissioners will meet July 10th at 10~30 A.M. for the purpose of discussing park facilities with the incorporated areas, and invited representatives from this area. Motion by Hosch seconded by Holm, that a special meeting be held on Friday, June 28th, at 7 p.m. for the purpose cf ~scussing the above matter.' RoLl Call - A].I AFes~ The 0ity Manager reported that Ordinance Ncc385 had been signed by the Mayor and filed ~th the Secretary of the Council and publiehed in the official ne~.mpaper, and that the period for filing of referendum petitions ~i!l e~pire June 27th,1957, and no such petitions have been filed to date. He recommended that the City proceed ~th the bond issue contemplated by said ordinance so that funds would be available ~en needed te make payments on improver~ent contracts. Councilman Hosch introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption, which resolution was thereupon read in full, in vords and figures as followers: RESOLUTION PROVID~NG FOR PUBLIC SALE 0~ $750,000 PE~bk~NT IMPROV~,~ REVOLViNG FUND BOI~DS ~ BE IT RESOLVED-by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, Minnesota, as follows: 1. This Council shall meet at the time ~nd place ar.d for the purpose specified in the form of notice of bond sale hereinafter set forth, and to take such further action in respect to the bonds therein described as shall then be found desirable or expedient. 2. The City ~,~nager is authorized and directed to give notice 6f the time, place and purpose of said meeting by causing notice thereof to be published in one issue of. The Oity Manager reported that demands had been m~de by the Alcoholic and Tax Division,' for the purchase of a ~holesale Bar License, and also dema~Med that licenses fro~ the year 1952 to date be purchased, together with a .pem~ty of 25% and interest. The council took no action regarding this matter. The continued hearing on the Anderson Addition Storm Sewer was taken up and the Engineer reported he would like this deferred until the next meeting as he would like to stud~ this project further. Resolution ~fered by Hosch seconded by Knutson, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Oity Oounoil of the Oity of Oolumbia Heights, that ~ sick leave and vacation pay be paid at ~He rates established for each classification, based on a normal forty hour week. Roll CaLl - ~ A~es. Several people living in the vicinity of Johnson and Hayes between 37th and 39th were present regarding a water drainage problem, but no solution ~as reached at the present time.
