Reso~lution offered by Hosch seconded by Holm, ~he City Council of the C~ity of- Col~mbia Heights hereb~ resolves, RES0~LVED: that the following r~evised wage scel~, the classification o~ equipment,_ the ~esignation 9f legal holidays and other m~tter~pertaj_uin~ to~ wag~es ~ud salaries and working conditions are hereby adopted. ' 1. The following pieces of equipment sha~l be classified as heavy equipment .and the operation thereof sh-~] be paid for at the rate of $2.55 per hour8 Street Sweeper~ Patrol Graders, Traxcavator, Bulldozer, S~x ton front end loader~ Five Ton Roller and Seaman Mixer. . 2. Trucks, Asphalt Distributor, Tractor and any other equipment not listed in item one, above shall be Classified as light equipment and the operation of such equipment shall be paid for at the rate of $2.25 per hour. 3. Laborers shall he paid ~t the rate of $2.00 per hour and after six months of continuous service, this rate shall be increased ten cents per hour. 4. Ail assignments of operators of mechanical equipment, shall be on the basis of seniority and qualifications as operators of such equip~ent. All assigmnents shal~ be ~Ade by the foreman of the department effected. Separate seniority lis~ shall be set up.for the Street DePartment and the water and sewer departments. In case ~ of emergencies and dire need, nothing shall prohibit the integration of the above departments when so ordered by the city Manager or his designated representatives. 6. Should Lincolns' Birthday, Washingtons' Birthday, Columbus Day or Armistice Day fall on a SundAy, The following Monday would not be a holiday. These designations shall not apply to the Municipal'Liquor Store~ since that function is proprietary rather than governmental. For'this reason only~ those Holidays herewith listed shall be observed as legal holidays: 1. New Years Day 2. M~morialDay 3. Independence D~ 4. Labor Day 5. Christmas Day 6. Thanksgiving Day All Employes of all departments not~pecifica/lymentioned in the preceeding paragraphs, except the employees of such departments under joint jurisdiction~ or on alee basis, shall receive a pay increase based on the rate in effect and in force on January l, 1957, of 6% of that rate. 8. Roll Cal~ - Ail Ayes. A report was received from the planning & ZOning ComzissiOn containing their recc~aendations, tmi the City CoUnCil agreed to go aloYg with their action. The Council approved the Subdivision of Rosl~n Heights, subject to the submission to them of the final record plats. The proposed Lyndale Builders Addition was approved subject to receipt of street and alley profiles. This is in regard to State Aid extensions ~ithin ~o~r~orat~ limits of M~nici~alities~ in Anoka County. A letter was received from Donald Sandg~e~, 4437'Va~ Buren St.N.E.~ regarding c~b construction, on 45th Avenue, and ast~ng that this be deferr&d. ~otion~by Julkows~i seconded b~ Holm~ that ~his letter dated l~arch 30th, be placed on file.
