BE IT HEREBY RESuLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights duly asseubled this ETth. day of February, 1945 that we accept the working agreement cOntract made and entered into the 4th day of Dec. , 1944 by and between the Hotel and Restaurant Employees, International Alliance and Bartenders Inter- national League of America party of the first part and the On-Sale Liquor Dealers of ~,'~inneapolis Inc. party of the second part. That said agree- ment and the Conditions thereof shall govern v~rking conditions and ~.~ages for regular and extra employees of the Eunicipal Liquor Store who are members in good standing in Bartenders Union Local No. 1SE, Hotel and Restaurant Employees' Union 458, and ~iscellaneous r;orkers Union Local No. 665. Representatives of the Columbia Heights unit of the Anoka County Sports- men's Club appeared before the Council stating their plan to sponsom a dance at the Fieldhouse ;,~arch 17th and requesting a reduction in hall rental. Discussion. Motion by Jackson, seconded by Nygaard, that the Columbia Heights unit of the A'noka County Sportsmen's Club be granted the use oi' th~ hall, canteen and check-room I'or their dance to be held March ITth~a fee of $15.00. RESoLV~ by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights duly assembled this 27th day off February, 1945 that we recommend to the Police Civil Service Board that the probationary period for policemen during the war and for six months thereafter be reduced from six months to three months. Secretary t~/~e Council Mayor 0F~I CI AL PROCEEDINGS Special Meeting March 6th, 1945 A special meeting of the Council was held for the ~urpose of considering the Police Report as submitted by Chief W. E. Cottrell. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. Ail members present. Mr. Neill McLaughlin of Neill Mc~aughlin Co. was oresent at the meeting at the reouest of the Council in regards to the auditing of the City's records. Discussion. Traffic problems m~ and recommendations for their solution as noted in the Police Report: Double parking on Central Ave. - solution suggested, yellow line 7 feet out from curb between $gth and 42nd Aves; Car sto~ changes suggested for the Park Line bus and the street-car; 10 min. ~arking on Central Ave. from 40th Ave. to alley south of post-office; 90 min. parking on rest of area on Central Ave. between Gould Ave.
