'J'~HEREAS, the 1943 Session of the Legislatures has proposed the submission of a Consti-tutional Amendunent to the vote~ of the s~ate at the General Election on 5Toy. 7, 1944, and, :?~REAS, said amendment, commonly known as the "Avi,tion Amendment" will become the 19th Amenctment to the Cons~i- tution of the State of Minnesota,' and, .?~KEREAS, the passage of s.~id amend~ment will permit the Stste (1) to develop ~. state-wide airports system, (2) to impose a tax upon g~soline used for aviation purpose (now exenAot) and, ($) to impose a t~x upon aircraft iz~ lieu of the present burdensome personal orooerty tax, and, ¥;HEREAS, the objects and ,purposes of said i'Aviation A.mendment" are consistent with the nublic ~elfare snd best interests of the state, snd, ~?HEREAS, the ~oassage of said amen~buent will promote a~iation generally throughout the state and enure to the benefit of the respective cor~nunities of the state, ~0~,~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Colt~'nbi~ Heights endorses the objects s.nd ourDosesof said "Aviatior~ ~nend~ment" and urge~ that vot~ of the community "VOTE YES" thereon.
