Resolution offered by Spekulant, seconded, by Bentzen. W.~REAS the City Manager has presented an estimate of the exDenditures and receipts for the various funds as re- quired by Section 63, Cha0ter 7 of the Charter of the City of Colmabia Heights; and, WT~EREAS the City Council of the City of Col~nbia Heights has held meetings at various times for the puroose of adooting a budget for the City of Col~mbia Heights for the year 1945. BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Col~nbia Heights that the following budget be adooted for the year 1945, with receiots and disbursements distributed as follows: Estimated Receiots from - ' Fund Est. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Auditor be and he is hereby snthorized and instru~ ted to levy a tax of one-tenth of one mill (.1%~) of the assessed valuation of the City of Columbia Heights, to the amount of $102.34, for Firemen's Relief Association. Roll Call - All ayes. Co~nunication from Governor T~ve read regarding aid and sssistance to retu~rned war veterans. Discussion. 1.~otion by Jackson, seconded by Soekulant, that the City Manager write the local costs of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the ~aerican Legion to try to coordinat~ the. effort and the plexus as outlined in the Governor's letter. Motion by Jsckson, seconded by Nygaard, that the City Attorney be instructed to dra~ up an amendment to the trailer ordinance granting the Council oower to eXtend time limit of occupancy permit,~in special cases, over the 10-day period allowed. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that there is a vacancy in the Police Deoartment, and that the Police Civil Service Co~,mission t~ce the necessary steos to fill such vs.csncy. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Col~mbia Heights that the City Treasurer be and is hereby s~uthorized and instructed to~trsmsfer the sum of $20A.00 from the ~ater ~r~d to {he Fire Fund, for work performed (meter reading) for the ~ater Dep't. but paid out of the Fire F~d.
