All members present. previous regular and special meetings read and approved. l~inutes of the Petition submitted to the Council for the extension of water ~,in on Stinson Blvd. to service the property owners in the ztO00 blo~c. Mr. Cedarberg aooeared before the Council in this behalf, stating that present private r~.in is in bad condition and that the pressure is inadequate. Motion by Jackson, seconded by Spekulant, that the aforesaid Stinson Blvd. water main petition be turned over to the City Manager for investigation. Roll Call - All ayes. As per official publication Seot. 28, 1944 in the legal ne~soaoer of the City, a hearing was held for those pr~operty o~ners benefitted by the followin~ local improvements: Job ~ll? " ~118 - ~ater main on Cleveland St. from 41st Ave. N. E. to a ooint 500 ft. north thereof. - Extension of ~ater main on Stinson Blvd. from 42nd Ave. to a point approx. 320 ft. north of its present termination. Residents of Cleveland St. and Stinson Blvd. appeared at such hearing and discussed with the Cooncil the scooe and approxims~te cost of the ~roposed extensions. Motion by Spekulant, seconded by ~ygaard, that as no objectio~were m~de to the project, t~t the City Manager be instructed to oroceed with Jobs ~ll7 and ~llS. Roll Call - All ayes. Reading of Notice of Bids for the di~zin~e~ ~ of trench and laying of approx. 820 ft. of 6 in. water ..m~.ins in the City of Columbia Heights. 0peni~g of bids: John Teseth $2.25 per ft. - r~.terial furnished by City - digging of trench not over ? ft. deep. Motion by Nygaard, seconded by Jackson, that the bid of John Teseth be accepted. Roll Call - All ayes. Motion by Nygaard, seconded by Bentzen, that the request of the N. ~[. Bell Telephone Co. to place buried cable across _n0th Ave. west of Reservoir Blvd. and into the alley south of 40th Ave., one pole in the alley south of ~n0th Ave. and west of Reservoir Blvd., and a oole on the north side of 41st Ave. west of Reservoir Blvd., be granted. Roll Call - All ayes. Motion by Bentzen, seconded by Spekulant, that the ~plication of Carl A. 01son for license to do olmmbing in the City of Columbia Heights be granted. Roll Call - All ayes. Notion by Jackson, seconded by ~ygaard, that the conmm~nication from the League of t,~inn. ~unicioalities announcing regional meetings to be held throughout the State be olaced on file. Roll Call - All ayes. Resolution offered by ]i~ygaard, seconded by Spekulant. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights tl~t the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and instructed to transfer the s~m of $4,000.00 from the $i~king F~n~d to the P.I .R. Fund, and that there are sufficient moneys in said Sinking ~und to make such transfer. Said moneys are to be used for the laying of water Lnains. ~ose funds are such moneys as were erroneously placed, tn the Si~king _~%uud instead of the P.I.R. fu~.d when received from the County ~ditor on tax collections. Roll Call - All ayes. Nr. Sauber and Nr. Anderson, with Mr. Brown, aooeared before the Cotu%cil in complaint of. youngsters on horseback riding on their property. City Attorney reco~nended t~hat present ordinance be amended so that stable owner will be held liable for violations of. minors while they are riding his horses. Notion by Jackson, seconded by Soekulant, that City Attorney be instructed to draw up such amendment to horse ordinance. Roll Call - All eves. Resolution offered by Jackson, seconded by Bentzen. BE IT P~REBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Col~ubia Heights t?~t the City Treasurer is authorized and here- by instructed to transfer the stu~ of $750.00 from the Liouor Fund to the A~ninistration Fund; and that there are sufficient moneys in said Liouor Fund to ,make such transfer. Roll Call - All ayes. Resolution offered by Soekulant, seconded by Nygaard. BE IT }~REBY RESOLVED by the Ci.ty Council of the City of Col=mbia Heights th~,t the City Treasurer is authorized and hereby instructed to transfer the s~n of $1440.00 from the Lieuor Fund to the Street Fund; and that there are sufficient moneys in said Lieuor Fund to make such transfer. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Co.uncil of the City of Col~bta Heights that the City Treasurer is authorized and hereby instructed to transfer the sum of $1600.00 from the Liouor Fund to the Police and Court l~und; 8nd that there are sufficient moneys in said Lteuor Fund to .u~ke such transfer.
