Roll Call - All aves. ~ Motion by Bentzen, seconded by Jackson, that the communication from the Columbia Heights Fire Deo't. recuesting oermission to soonsor the Fall Festival for 1944 be olaced on file. Roll Call - All ~yes. Mr. Mogg anoeared before the Council in regards to FHA bonds offered as collateral the Columbia Heights State Bar~. Mr. M9gg sssured the Council t~t the bank would Pro lO.~ accept the release of said bonds, ~s~y' ~esolution Oassed January llth, 1944. Matter of drainage of area east of Central Avenue in Fridley Township discussed. Discussion on recuest for raise in pay of the licuor store Janitor and utility men. Resolution offered by Nygaard, seconded by Soekulant. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights t~t the salary of the Janitor of the Lio~.or Store be raised, to~ One Hundred Ten ~($110.00) Dollars per month, and that such raise be retroactive to January l, 1944. Roll Call - Ayes: Jackson, Nygaard, Spekulant, Bassett. Nays: Bentzen Motion ibY Bentzen that a resolution be drawn grast~ng the three utility men an increase in wages of $5.00 Der month. No second to motion~ motion declared lost. Motion by Jackson, seconded by Nyga~rd, that a resolution be drawn granting the two utility men who are union members an increase in wages of $5.00 per month, retroactive to January l, 1944, as requested by the Union, ~nd that third man, if he joins the Union, shall ~lso receive a $5.00 per month wage increase, but such raise shall not be retro- active. Roll Call - All ayes. Resolution offered by Jackson, seconded by Spekulant. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by t~e City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that the.salaries of the two utility men who are members of their Union be raised Five ($5.00) Dollars per month, and that said .raise be retroactive to January 1, 1944. The salary of a~ny utility man ,~no joins his union hereafter shall likewise be 'raised Five(S5.00) Dollars oer month, but such raise sh~ll not be'retroactive. Roll Call - All ayes. Resolution offered by Bentzen, ~econded by Nygaard. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of Columbia Heights'that the salary of Omar Schwartz be raised to One Hundred Sixty-five ($165.00) Dollars Der month and that said raise be and take effect as of February 1, 1944. Roll Call - All ayes. Resolution offered~by Soekulant, seconded, by Nygaard. BE IT HEREBY _w~ESOLVED that the City Treasurer be and she hereby is authorized to transfer t~e sum of One Thous- and~1000.00) Dollars from the Liquor Fund to the Police Fund; and that there are sufficient moneys in said Liquor Fund to make such transfer. Roll Call - Ayes: Bentzen, Jackson, Nygaard, Spekulant. Nays: Bassett Resolution offered by Jackson, seconded by Bentzen. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Treasurer be and she is hereby authorized to transfer the sum of One Fnousand ($1000.00) Dollars from the Lieuor Fund to the Administration Fund; and that there are sufficient moneys in said ~iquor Fund to ms,ce such transfer.~ Roll Call - Ayes: Bentzen, Jackson, Nygaard, Spekulant.
