All members present.
5iinutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
A. delegation from Quincy St. Pond ao0eared before the Council in regard to
the conditions in their vicinity.
Motion by Bentzen seconded by i~ygaard to turn over to the City Manager the
~atition for Street lights on 44th Ave from Central Ave. East to McLeod St. He is
to check as to how man~ lights is needed and is also instructed to contact Northern
States Power Co. as to priorities on the s~ne. Roll Call - All A~es.
~mergency 5',unicipal War Ordinance was offered by Bentzen seconded by Nygaa.rd.
being a~u Ordinance providing for Civilian Defense and for protection and promotion

Motion by Bentzen s~coDde~ by Jackson that the City t~anager be instructed to
contact Mr. Ludwig cf the League of Municipalities and inform him that the Council
is in favor of the League meetin~and also to inform him that Saturday would be a
more convienient day for ~he members of the Council to Attend. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Nygaard seconded by Bentzen to grant the cigarette license of Herbert,
Lennox at 4755 University Ave. N. E. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Resolution offered by Nygaard seconded by Jackson to grant permission to the
Minneapolis, St. Paul Suburban R. R. Co. to extend the existing second track of its
~ailway line from its'present terminus near the intersection of 40th Ave. N. E. &
Central Westerly on 40th Avg. approximately 600 feet to a point between Vs.n Buren
and Jackson St. N. E. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Jackson seconded by Nygaard to grant permission to the Minneapoli~
Electric Steel Castings to'install a fenCe on the Southerly side of the Railroad
track from the corner of 38th & Univerist¥ Ave. to a point epposite the end of their
enclosed bins on $Sth Ave. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Resolution Offered by Bentzen seconded by Jackson granting permission to the
Minneapolis, Anoka & Cu~una Railway to change the bus 'roUte as to leave Broadway
at University Ave. ~ continue North on University Ave.' theou~h the City of Columbia
