Safety Council presented Mr. Bassett with an award for no traffic fatalities d~zring 1940. Ietter from ~a.~.~r. ey, ~ler & Set~er architects with reference to the new b~ilding being erected for N W. Linseed Co. At a meeting held by the Zoning Commission the Co~nission recommended that a temporar~ permit not to exce~d one year from date of operation be granted N W Linseed Co. Motion by Pritchard, seconded by Bentzen, to rescind the action taken Ma~ 29th on the above oermit owing to irregularit#~%, Roll call - All Letter from the Co.~Gercial Club reg~rding the lJ.W.Linseed Co. seconded by S.oek~lant to place on file. (Salary to be $75.00) Resolution offered by Bentzen, seconded by S~el~lmut The City Co~muci! of the City of Columbia Heights hereby resolves: That the City Treasurer be and she hereby is authori~d to transfer $75.00 from the "Liquor D3nd" to the Park Fund" and the City Co%Zucil hersby finds ths~ ~here is sufficient surplus monies in the Liquor Fund" to m~e such transfer. Motion by Pritchard, seconded by Spek~!ant that the City Hanager be authorized to close the Lieuor Store from 12 - 6 P.M. on J~sDe 26th, also the City Offices, because of the Eucharistic Congre~. Roll call - All ayes. ~Reeolution offered by Pritchard, seconded by Spek~lant The City Council of Columbia Heights hereby resolves: That the City Treasurer be and she hereby is authorizsd and directed to transfer $700. from the "Liquor Fund" to the "Poor Fund" and the City Conncil hereby finds that there is sufficient surplus monies in the "Lieuor Fund" to make such transfer.
