.W~IEREAS, the City of Colttmbia Heights, did on the 19th day of ?,ay, 1941, conduct
and hold a Pri ~',ary ~.~unicipal Election for ..~..~rpose of nominating candidates for
City Office to be voted on at a General l,lunicioal Election; and,
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, at a soecial meeting
of said Council, held on the 2$rd davy of ~f, ay, 1941 did ~anvas the returns and re-
sults of said Primary Nunicioal Election; and,
~..~EAS, The following results were determined by said canvas of sai5 Pri~.~ary
l~unicipal Election, to-wit:

NOW THEREFORE, BE it resolved by the City Cotuucil of the City of Col~mbia Heights:
That ~ouis W. Bsssett and Joseph Lubans~y be and are hereby declared to be candi-
dates for M~,or of the City of Col~mbia Heights at the General kk~uicipal Eledtion
to be held June 9th, 1941.
That Kenneth Stinson, A Hollooeter, Roy Bentzen, and Irving !~ygaard be and they
hereby are declared to be candidates for Councilmen at the General Municipal Elec-
tion to be held J'mue 9th, 1941.

~U~dtEA$, A oetition has been oresented to the City Council of the City of Columbia
Heights ree~esting that the.following cuestion to-wit:
"Shall the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights
be authorized to transfer not to exceed One Thousand
($1000.) Dollars oer each fiscal year from the ~ieuor
~uud" to a "Band Fund" to be used to finance the cost
of maintaining a municipsl band in the City of Col~mbia
Heights?"
and,
WHEREAS, The City Co,m~cil ha~ examined the said petition and finds that said
petition has been duly signed by a number of legal ~oters equal to more thsm. ten
(10) per cent of the total number of votes cast at the last General Election.
TI~E CITY COUI'TCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTOI~I~. ~IGHTS HEREBY .~SOLVES:
That the abov~ question be submitted to the voters of Columbia Heights at a Special
Election to be held on the 9th day of June, 1941, in conjunction with the General
}Zunicipal Election to be held on that date. That the judges aooointed to serve at
the General }~unicipal Election on said date be smd are hereby apoointed to serve as
Judges at the said Special Election. Further that the ~ity Clerk be and she hereby
is instructed to give the proper lav~ful notice of said Soecial Election and to have
b~llots prepared for said SpecisJ_ Election and delivered to the polls according to
law. Roll call - All ayes. Passed ~.~ay 23, 1941.
