Special meeting called to order Jan. 21, 1941. Ail members present.
Meeting called for the purpose of passing on proposed specifications for fire app~attm
Motion by Pri~chard, seconded by So. ekulant that Mr. Bentzen, be appointed Chairman pro-
rem.
Mr. Abe Leavitt appeared before the Council in regard to the denial of off sale beer
license. Ne explained that a new store will be constructed on Central Ave. this summer,
and that the Manager will move up here at that time. He asked that the license be
granted until then, and made a solemn declaration that he would establish his residence
in Columbia Heights wi.~bin ~O d~ys.
Motion by Pricchard, seconded by Jackson, that a license be granted to Mr Abe Leavitt
Manager of Kassler Mkt., taking into consideration the 90 day clause. Roll call -
All a~es.
Motion by Jackson, seconded by Pritchard, that the Fire Truck specifications Co~nit~ee
be instructed to see if a Northern Pump can be bought direct or thru khom, also if the
Northern Pump Co. is not willing to.furnish a pump free of charge, also delivery date.
Roll call - All ayes.
Motion by Jackson, seconded by Pritchard, that the Sewer Charges for 1941 be set at
5~ per 100 cu. ft. with a minimum charge of 45~ per euarter on abutting property. Roll
call - all ayes.
Motion to adjourn by Pritchard, seconded by Jackson.

Motion by Bent zen, seconded by JaksOn, that Carl Althous be granted a plumbing license.

M orion by Jackson, seconded by Pritc?~ld, that A V. Moline be granted a skee ball
machine license. R~ll call - All ayes.
Motion by Bentzen, seconded by Jackson, that R. A. D=hlgren be reappointed to the
Zoning Commission. Roll call - All ayes.
Motion by Pritc~rd, seconded by Bentzen, that Joe Ha~n~y be granted an off sale licen~
for ~700 Central Ave., subject to the provision of the 9.0-d~v clause. Roll call -
all ayes.
Motion by Pritchard, seconded by Jackson, that communication from Col. Hts Com'l Club
regarding Northern Pump traffic th~the City be placed on file. Roll call - Ail a~es.
Motion by Pritchard, seconded by Jackson, that the City Manager be authorized to adver-
tise for bids as per specl£ications for fire truck. Roll call - Ail ayes.
Notion by Jackson, seconded by Spekulant to place on file the letter from the Col.
Hts Com'l Club, regarding two-way radio for the police dept. Roll call - All ayes.
Motion by Jackson, seconded by Pritchard, that the City Manager be instructed to
z~ write the Minneapolis Police Department to the efffect that the CGnncil intends to
in~tall two-way radio and to hold the a~ignment for the City. Roll call.- All ayes.·
Motion by Pritchard, seconded by Bentzen, that the City Manager is authorized to our-
chase sign as per specifications for 43rd & Marshall. Roll call - All ayes. '
Motion by Pritchard, seconded by Jackson,~ to allow the bills out of the proper funds.
