HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 674ORDINANCE NO. 674 BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 462 BEING AN ORDINANCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROMOTING HEALTH, SAFETY, ORDER, CONVENIENCE AND GENERAL WELFARE BY REGULATING THE USE OF LAND , THE LOCATION AND THE USE OF BUILDINGS, AND THE ARRANGEMENT OF BUILDING LOTS, AND THE DENSITY OF POPULATION IN THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS DOES ORDAIN: Section I. Ordinance No. 462 is hereby amended as follows: That Section 8.8H be added as follows: H. PARKING SPACES. That all single family dwellings to be built with in the City of Columbia Heights shall provide for a one-car enclosed space on the building site with a minimum floor area of 320 square feet. That all two family dwellings to be built within the City of Columbia Heights shall provide for a two-car enclosed space on the building site with a minimum floor area of 528 square feet. That for all other multiple residences there shall be at least one completely enclosed parking space per unit provided on the site. There shall be such other exposed parking spaces up to 1½ parking spaces for each dwelling unit in the multiple resi- dence as the P]anning and Zoning Commission may so order. The enclosed parking space for each dwelling unit shall provide a minumum of 264 square feet per unit. The exposed parking area shall be surfaced with a hard all-weather durable dust-free surfacing material and shall be properly drained and landscaped and shall be maintained in a sightly and well-kept condition. Section 2. Should any section, subdivision, clause or other provision of this Ordinance be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall not effect the validity of the ordinance as a whole nor any part thereof other than the part so declared to be invalid. Section 3. Any person violating this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $100.00 or by imprisonment for a period not to exceed 90 days. Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after thirty (30) days after its passage.
