BEING AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO 1VrUNICIPAL PARKING LOTS
THE CITY OF COLII1VIBIA HEIGHTS DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. No person, firm or corporation shall cause to be parked any vehi-
cie in a municipal parking lot for a longer period than is designated on the signs marking
such zones and in any other event no longer than 12 hours o
Section 2. Any person, firm or corporation, who is the owner of the motor ve-
hicle when the same is upon such property contrary to the foregoing provisions, is guilty
of violating this ordinance. That person, firm or corporation, upon conviction, shall be
punished by a fine not to exceed $100.00 or by imprisonment for a period not to exceed
90 days.
Section 3. V~henever a police officer of the City of Columbia Heights finds a
vehicle parked upon a municipal parking lot in violation of any of the foregoing provisions,
such officer may move such vehicle, or require the driver or other person in charge of tha
vehicle to remove the same. If a police officer has the vehicle towed, the owner of the
vehicle shall be responsible for payment of alt costs as a result of the towing.
Section 4. Should any section, subdivision, clause or other provision of this
ordinance be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision
shall not effect the validity of the ordinance as a whole nor of any part thereof other
than the part so declared to be invalid.
Section 5. Time of Taking Effect. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after Thirty (30i days after its passage.
