AND ORDINANCES AMENDING SAlVlEo THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. That all home occupations and alt home professional offices which are carried on in a dwelling require a home occupation use or home professional office use permit. Section 2 o That alt home occupation use or home professional office use permits shall be issued by the City Council. The City Council at the time it issues the home occupation use or home professional office use permit shall specify the period of time for which the permit is issued. If no time is indicated by the Council, the permit shall originally issue for the balance of any calendar year in which it ils issued. Thereafter, application for renewal of a home occupation use or home professional office use permit must be made annually. Section 3. That all special use permits shall be issued by the City Council. The City Council at the time it issues the special use permit shall specify the period of time for which the permit is issued. If no time is indicated by the Council, the permit shall originally issue for the balance of any calendar year in which it is issued. Thereafter, application for rene~val of a special use permit must be made annually. Section 4. Section 5. Section 6. The fee for all home occupation use or home professional office use permits and special use permits shall be set forth by the City Council by Resolution. An annual license fee must be paid by the holder of the home occupation use or home professional office use or special use permit regardless of the period of time for which the original permit has been is sued. All home occupation use permits and all home professional use permits and.all special use permits that have been issued to date are subject to yearly renewal, except those permits which have already been issued for longer periods by the City Council, shall continue for the term for which the permit was originally issued, but~when the~l~erm expires the permit is subject to annual renewal. Should any section, subdivision, clause, or other provision of this Ordinance be declared by a Court of competent jurisdiction to be in- valid, such decision shall not effect the validity of the Ordinance as a ~vhole nor of any part thereof other than the part so declared to be in- valid. Section 7. Any person violating this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by fine not to exceed $!00.00 or by imprisonment for a period not to exceed 90 days. Section 8. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after thirty (30) days after its passage.
