HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 620 ORDINANCE NO. ~ BEING AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE P~GUI~TION OF TP~FFIC ON PRIVATE ROADWAYS~ AND PRIVATE PARKING LOTS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CItY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS DOES ORDAIN: Section 1o That no person shall operate a motor vehicle on any private road- way at a speed greaterthan~ safe and reasonable for the conditions of traffic then existing therein, and in no event,~ at a speed exceeding 15 miles per hour. The owner of the private raadway in conjunction with the City of Columbia Heights, shall post signs at the entrances of the private roadways which shall designate the speed limit. The sign as erected shall conform to the uniform system es- tablished by the Commissioner of Highways. Section 2o Parking of vehicles on such lots shall conform to any stalls or positions for parking designated on the surface of the parking area and no vehicle shall be parked or allowed to sta~d in any area of such parking lot which has been designated or is used for a lane for moving traffic so as to interfere with the movement of traffic thereon. The owner of the private parking lot in conjunction with the Police Department of the City of Columbia Heights shall post signs regulating the movement of traffic and t~i6ing the time that vehicles may park upon the private parking lot. Section 5o Violation and Penalty. Any person violating this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by fine not to exceed $!00.00 or by i~p~isonment for a period not to exceed 90 days. Section ~o Time of Taking Effect° This ordinance shall take effect and be in force within 50 days after its passage[~~ .........
