HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 611ORDINANCE NO. 611 BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 569 BEING AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING AND BONDING OF INDIVIDUALS, FiP~IS, CORPORATIONS, CONTRACTORS AND SUB-CONTRACTORS DOING OR PERFOR~IING WORK WITHIN THE CITY OF COLUMBIA IqEIGHTS AND FOR WHICH PERMITS ARE REQUIRED AS SET FORTH iN APPLICABLE CODES AND ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS. THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. That Section 3 of Ordinance 569, which states: "Application for license shall be made to the City Council and such license shall be granted by a majority vote of the council upon proof of the applicant's qualifications therefore and upon ~mU~~x~L~x~k~ filing a bond in the amount of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000) conditioned upon compliance with the provisions of said City Ordinances, the filing of certificates evidencing the holding of public liability insurance in the limits of $25,000.00 per person, $50,000.00 per accident of bodily injury, and $5,000.00 for property damages and certificates of Work- men's Compensation Insurance as required by law." shall be amended to read: "Application for license shall be made to the City Council and such license shall be granted by a majority vote of the council upon proof of the applicant's qualifications there- fore and upon compliance with the provisions of said City Ordinances, the filing of certificates evidencing the holding of Public Liability Insurance in the limits of $25,000.00 per person, $50,000.00 per accident of bodily injur and $5,000.00 for property damages and certificates of Workmen's Compensation Insurance as required by law. Section 2. That Section 4 of Ordinance No.569, which states: ~License fee shall be set by res~!ution annually by City Counci!.'~ Section 3. shall be amended to read: ?License fee shall be set by resolution annyally by the City Council with said license fee prorated at 1/2 the annuak fee on applications received after September !st, annually.'~ This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after thirty (30) days after its passage. ~irst Reading: October 25, 1965 second ReadingS' November 8,1965 Offered by: King Seconded by: Jeska Roll Call - All Nayes
