BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 143
BEING AN ORDINANCE LICENSING AND REGULATING THE
SALE AP RETAIL OF NON-INTOXICATING LIQUORS AND
PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1.
That Section 9 of Ordinance No.143 is hereby
amended to read:
That no licensee or spouse not having an intoxicating
liquor license, nor any agent of the licensee, or
employee of the licensee, shall permit the consumption
of intoxicating liquor on the licensed premises, nor
shall any licensee, his spouse, his agent or employeey
serve soft drinks to be used for '~mixing~ purposes.
The conviction of the licensee or his spouse for
violation of this section, shall automatically revoke
the licensee's license without the necessity.of formal
action by the City Council.
The conviction of the licensee's agent or employee
for violation of this section, shall require the
mandatory suspension of the licenser for at least
ten (10) days. The City council may suspend for a
longer period of time or revoke the license in its
discretion upon notice to the licensee and hearing
thereon.
The consumption of intoxicating liquors on such
licensed premises is hereby declared a violation
of this ordinance by a person so consuming same.
Section 2.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after thirty (30) days after its passage.
