ORDINANCE NO. 507 BEING AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE GOVERNING OF TRANSPORTATION OF BUILDINGS OF ANY NATURE OR TYPE ~OVER THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS. THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS DOES ORDAIN: Section I. PERMIT REQUIRED. That every person, firm or corporation who shall move any building of any nature or type over the streets and highways of the City of Columbia Heights, shall first obtain a permit therefore from the City Clerk. Section II. BOND REQUIRED. That every person, firm or corporation engaged in moving buildings of any type or nature over the streets and highways of the City of Columbia Heights shall first post a bond with the City in the amount of 83,000. Said bond shall be of the type and nature which would reimburse the City or any inhabitants thereof for any damages sustained as a result of the moving of such buildings within said City. Section III. CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE. That every person, firm, or dorporation who shall be engaged in moving buildings of any type or nature over the streets and highways of the City of Columbia Heights shall file with the City Certificates of Insurance which certificates shall cover bodily injury and property damage in the minimum amounts of $50,000 and $100,000 on bodily injury and $5,000 on property damage. Section IV. APPLICATION. Any person, firm, or corporation shall file an application for permit. Such application shall show the following information: Section V. Section VI. a. The type of structure to be moved b. The route over which the building will be moved. c. The date and time of the entrance of said building into the City of Columbia Heights. d. The type of protection to be given traffic during the move. e. Final destination of the building. PENALTY. Any person, firm or corporation violating this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punishable by $100 fine or 90 days imprisonment. TIME OF TAKING EFFECT. This Ord±nance shall take effect and be in force from and after 30 days after its passage.
