BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 157, BEING AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING
A COMMISSION TO PLAN FOR THE PHYSICAL DEVELOPmeNT OF THE CITY OF COLUNBIA HEIGHTS
AUTHORIZED BY THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA, 1937, CHAPTER 267, AND TO
RECO~ENDA. ZONING PLAN FOR ADOPTION UNDER LAWS OF 1929, CHAPTER 176, AS AP~NDED.
Section 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance 157, which reads as follows:
"Sectmon 2. Comp. gsition. Such Planning Commission shall consist of seven members.
Four members sham be appointed by the City Council and may be removed by a
four-fifths vote of the Council; the City Engineer and the City Attorney shall
be members ex officio, and the Council shall select one member of the Commission
from among its own members.
Of the members of the Commission first appointed, one shall be nominated for the
term of one year; one for the term of two years; one for the term of three years;
and one for the term of four years. Their successors shall be appointed for
terms of four years. Both original and successive appointees shall hold their
offices until their successors are appointed and qualified. The terms of ex
officio members shall correspond to their respective official tenures. Vacan-
cies daring the term~shall be filled by the CouncL1 for the unexpired portion
of the term. Every appointed member shall before entering upon the disCharge
of his duties take an oath that he will faithfully discharge the duties of
his office. All members shall serve without compensation."
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:

shall be advisory members of the Commissionwithout vote and the City Council
shall elect one member of the Commission from among its own members.

Section 2. Time of Tskin~ Effect. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
f~o'~ and-after thirty'(30)' days after its passage.
