THE BUSINESS OF PZASTERING AND STUCCO WORE WITHIN THE CITY OF COLU~
HEIGHTS.
The City of Columbia Heights does ordain as follows:
Section 1, No person, firm or corporation shall carry on the
Business of plastering or stucco Work within the City of Columbia
Heights without first having obtained a license so to do from the City
Council. Every person, --- .... ~z __o~v.~iil~ applying for a license
under this section of this ordinance must be at least twenty-one years
of age and maintain a place of business in the City of Columbia Heights,
Sec. 2. Every license granted pursuant to the provisions of
this ordinance shall be issued by the City Clerk from books prepared
by him for that purpose and on the stub of which shall be kept the
name of the licensee, his business location, the date of granting and
t~e date of issuing the license and such other details as may be
necessary to form a complete reference and memorandum of t~he license.
See. 3. Every such license shall terminate on the first day
of January next succeeding the issuance of the same unless sooner
revoked or forfeited and shall not be transferrable or assignable.
Before receiving a license the person, firm or corporation applying
for the same shall execute and deposit with the City Clerk a surety
bond to the City of Columbia Heights. to be approved by the City Council
in the sum of $ ......... conditioned for the faithful performance
of all work entered upon or contracted for by him or them and for the
strict compliance by him or them with all the provisions or requirements
of the ordinances of the City of Columbia Heights and that he or they
will indemnify the City of Columbia Heights for any and all losses and
damage Oy reason of any negligence on the part of such licensee, his
or their agents or employes While engaged in the prosecution of his
or their business as such licensee.
Sec. 4. An annual license fee of $~ , , ~ for every such
license is hereby fixed and required to be paid into the city treasury
before the issuance of the license. In case any such license is
applied for ~nd issued after the first day of J~uuary of any license
year the license ~ee to be paid therefor shall be such pro rata
part of such license ~ee as corresponds to the fractional portion of
the license year ~er which such license is issued.
Sec. 5. The City Council may. for Just cause, and after
investigation, if it deems advisable, revoke any such license.
Lee. 8. ~o permit f$~ t~e dging of plastering or stucco work
shall be issued to any person, firm or corporation except he or they
be licensed by the City of Columbia Heights to engage in such business
as hereinbefore provided.
Sec. ?. No holder of any such license shall allow his or their
name to be used by any other party 'either for the purpose of doing
work or obtaining permit under the penalty of forfeiting his or their
license and the
ia hereoy authorized to refuse to issue permits to any such licensee
violating this provision.
Sec. 8. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of
this ordinance shall on conviction thereof be subject to a fine not
exceeding $100 or to imprisonment in the county Jail not exceeding
90 days.
Sec. 9. All ordinances or parts of ordinances which conflict
with the terms of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Sec. 10. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30
days ~after its passage.
