AMENDING ORDINANCE #732, AN ORDINANCE REGULATING
THE PURCHASE, CONSUMPTION, POSSESSION OF ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES AND iMPOSING A PENALTY FOR THE
VIOLATION THEREOF.
THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. Ordinance //732 which reads as follows:
Section 1. Definitions: For the purposes of this
Ordinance, the following definitions will apply:
1. The term "alcoholic beverage" shall mean
and include ethyl alcohol and any distilled,
fermented, spirituous, and vinous beverages
containing in excess of 3.2 per-cent
of alcohol by weight as well asany malt
beverages with an alcoholic content of
more than one-half of one percent by volume.
2. The term "minor" shall mean and include any
person who has not attained the age of 21 years.
3. The term "licensee" shall mean and include
any person having a license for the retail sale
of alcohol ic beverages and any municipal
I iquor store.
Section 2. Violations: It shall be unlawful for any:
l. Licensee or his employee to sell or serve
any alcoholic beverage to a minor or to permit
a minor to consume any alcoholic beverage.
2.Person to procure any alcoholic beverage for
a minor.
3. Person to induce a minor to purchase or procure
any alcoholic beverage.
4. Minor to enter any premises licensed for the
retail sale of alcoholic beverage or any
municipal liquor store for the purpose of
purchas.~ng or having served or delivered to him
or her any alcoholic beverage.

5. A minor to misrepresent his age for the purpose
of obtaining any alcoholic beverage.
6. A minor to purchase or attempt to purchase any
alcoholic beverage.
7. A minor to have in his possession any alcoholic
beverage with intent to consume same. Possession
of any alcoholic beverage at a place other
than the household of his parent or
guardian will be prima facie evidence of his
~ntent to consume same.
8. A minor to consume any alcoholic beverage.
9. A minor to sell any alcoholic beverage.
Section 3. Penalty. Any violator of this ordinance
within the City of Columbia Heights will be
guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished
by a fine not to exceed Three Hundred Dollars ~300.00.)
or by ~mprisonment for a period not to
exceed Ninety ~0) days, or both.

within the City of Columbia Heights will be guilty
of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine not to
exceed Three Hundred Dollars [$300.00) or by
imprisonment for a period not to exceed Ninety (90) days,
or both.
Section 2.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force~.
from and after thirty [3C) days after its passage.
