HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 751ORDINANCE NO. 751 BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE #158, "CREATING A PARK BOARD FOR THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS AND PROVIDING FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF PARKS IN THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS BY SUCH PARK BOARD" BY PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A MEMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO THE PARK BOARD. THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. That Columbia Heights Ordinance #158, Section 2, which provides: Appointment and Personnel. The said Columbia Heights Park Board shall consist of five members, to be chosen by the City Council for terms of one, two, three, four and five years, respectively, al! of whom shall be freeholders and residents of the City of Columbia Heights and shall serve without compensation. Vacancies created by termination of office, removal from the City, resignation or otherwise shall also be filled by the City Council. is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 2. Appointment and Personnel. The said Columbia Heights Park Board shall consist of six voting members as follows: One member from the City Council, to be appointed by the City Council, said Councilman to be the Council representative to the Recreation Commission, and five additional members to be chosen by the City Council for staggered terms of five years all of whom shall be freeholders and residents of the City of Columbia Heights and shall serve without compensation. Vacancies created by termination of of office, removal from the City, resignation or otherwise shall also be filled by the City Council. Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after thirty (30) days after its passage.
