STREETS IN THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA, AND
PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT, REGULATION, AND CO~ITROL
OF PARKING METERS, AND THE INSPECTION THEREOF, PRESCRIBING
LIMITS OF TIME FOR PARKING IN PARKING METER ZONES AND
PROVIDING FOR ENFORCEMENT OF THIS ORDINANCE AND PUNISHMENT
FOR ITS VIOLATION, AND RELATED MATTERS.
And amending Ordinance //715
BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 428, BEING AN
ORDINANCE RELATING TO IPAFFIC AND REGULATING USE OF PUBLIC
STREETS IN THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA, AND
PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT, REGULATION AND CONTROL
OF PARKING METERS, AND THE INSPECTION THEREOF, PRESCRIBING
LIMITS OF TIME FOR PARKING IN PARKING METER ZONES, AND
PROVIDING FOR ENFORCEMENT OF THIS ORDINANCE AND PUNISHMENT
FOR ITS VIOLATION, AND RELATED MATTERS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Ordinance //428, Section 7A which reads:
Parking meters, when installed and properly operated,
shall be so adjusted so as to show legal parking during
a period of twelve minutes upon md after the deposit
thereon of a United States one cent coin, 24 minutes upon
and after the deposit of two United States one cent
coins, 36 minutes upon and after the deposit therein
of three United States one cent coin% 48 minutes upon
and after the deposit therein of four United States
one cent coins, 60 minutes upon and after the deposit
therein of five United States one cent coins, or one
United States five cent coin. Payment for the aforesaid
amounts for the above period shall be made for parking
in the areas in which parking meters are installed as
above provided.
Shal 1 now be amended to read:
Parking meters, when installed and properly operated,

a period of thirty minutes upon and after the deposit
therein of a United States five cent coin, 60 minutes
upon the deposit of two United States five cent coins
or one United States ten cent coin.
Payment of the aforesaid amounts for the above period
shall be made for parking in the areas in which
parking meters are installed as above provided.
Section 2.
That Section 10b of Ordinance #428, subsequently amended
by Section 1 of Ordinance #715 which reads:
The Chief of Police or his duty authorized deputy is to
attach to such vehicle notice stating it has been parked
in violation of this ordinance and instructing the owner
or operator to report to the office of the Chief of
Police or his duly authDrized deputy of the City of
Columbia Heights in regard to such violation, tt shall
be the duty of the Chief of Police or his duly authorized
deputy to account and handle the fines hereinafter
set forth. The owner or operator may, within 24 hours
after the time when such notice is attached to such
vehicle, pay the Chief of Police or his duly authorized
deputy in full satisfaction of such violation, the
sum of fifty [50¢) cents.
Shall now be amended to read:
The Chief of Police or his duly authorized deputy is to
attach to such vehicle notice stating it has been p~rked
in violation of this ordinance and instructing the owner'
or operator to report to the office of the Chief of
Police or his duly authorized deputy of the City of
Columbia Heights in regard to such violation· It shall
be the duty of the Chief of Police or his duty authorized
deputy to account and handle the fines hereina[ter
set forth. The owner or operator may, within 24. hours
after the time when such notice is attached to such
vehicle, pay the Chief of Police or his duly authorized
deputy in full satisfaction of such violation, the sum
of ~8 Dollar~ ($1.00).
Section 3.
This Ordinance shall be in force and ta~effect from
and after thirty (30) days after its passage.
