AN ORDINANCE REGUL~T!NG HEATING, VENTILATING,
AIR CONDITIONING, HE~TING EQUIP~ENT, AND
LICENSING HEATING CONTraCTORS
THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS DOES ORDAIN: ~
SECTION 1. HEATING CODE, cITY OF MIN~APOLIS INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE.
The regulatory previsions of the heating code of the City of Minneapolis~
approved July 2, 1935, and as subsequently amended are hereby adopted as
the heating code regulating the use Of heating~ ventilating, air-conditioningl,
hea~ing equipment and licensing,,of heating contractors within %he City of
Columbia Heights and are hereby incorporated in and made a part of this 0rdi-
nance as completely as if set out here in fullo
SECTION 2. LICENSE REQUIRED. No person, firm, or corporation shall hereafter
install, alter, or repair any heating system in any building or structure within
the City of Columbia Heights, or engage in or carry on the business of so doing
in said City Couacil of said City, authorizing him to do so and pay the fee and
give the bond hereinafter provided for.
SECTION 3. LICENSE APPLICATION. Every person, firm or corporation desiring to
engage in or carry on the business as above mentioned shall make written applica-
tion to the City Council of said City for a license so to do, stating therein
the name of the person, firm or corporation desiring such license, and his or
their place of business. No such license shall be issued to any person, firm
or corporation unless the above mentioned applicant has an established mailing
address in the City of Columbia Heights.
SECTION ~. LICENSE FEE AND BOND. With each such application for license, the
applicant shall furnish a surety bond to the City of Columbia Heights in an
amount to be~set yearly by resolution of the City Council of the City of Col-
umbia Heights. Said bond should be conditioned so that the licensee shall
in all material and equipment by him furnished and in all work by him done and
performed in constructing, altering, repairing of hea~ing systems as above men-
tioned strictly comply with the provisions of this ordinance as provided herein.
The fee for such license shall be set by Council resolution each year. Each
license shall terminate on December ~1 of each year and shall not be assignable
or transferable. The aforementioned license fee shall be paid at the time of
filing of application and will be refunded in cash if the applicant is rejected
by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights.
SECTION 5. VALIDITY. Should any section, clause or provision of this ordinance
be held unconstitutional or invalid by any Court, all other sections, clases
and provisions shall nevertheless be deemed as effective as though such uncon-
stitutional or invali& section, cl~e or provision had never been inserted in
this ordinance.
