HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 376~)EFENDANI S OEDINANCE NO. 376 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS REGULATING T~ ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION, ENLARGE~ENT, ALTERATION, REPAIR, MOVING, REMOVAL, DEMOLITION, CONVERSION, OCCU- PANCY, EQUIT~NT, USE, HEIGHT, AREA, AND MAINTENANCE OF ~LL BUILDINGS AND/OR STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS: PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND COLLECTION OF FEES THEREFOR: PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF J DECLARiNG AND ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONES; ~PEALiNG ORDINANCE NO. 224 OF THE CITY OF COL~ ~BIA HEIGHTS AND ALL OTHER ORDIN~¢CES AND PARTS OF THE O~)INANCES IN CO~LICT THEREWITH. The City of Columbia Mei~t.w does ordain as follows~ SECTION 1. That a certain doct~nent, three (3) copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Columbia Heights, being marked and designated as "Uniform Building Code, 1955 Edition, published by Pacific Coast Buildin~ Officials Conference," be and the same is hereby adopted as the building code of the City of Columbia Heights for regulating the erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, removsl, demolition, con~rsion, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area, and maintenance of all buildings and/or structures in the City of Columbia Heights; providing for issuance of ~ermits and collection of fees thereforej providing penalties for violation of such code; declaring and estab- lishing fire zones; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of s~ch "Uniform Building Code, 1955 Edition, published by the Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference," on file Ln the office of the City Clerk are hereby referrSd to, adopted, and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this ordinance. SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 224 of the City of Columbia Heights entitled, "Being an Ordinance providing for immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety and providing for property standards and minimum construction require- ments for dwelling construction within the City of Co!~mbia Heights" and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3- That the entire incorporated area of the City of Oolumbia Heights is hereby declared to be and is hereby established as a Fire District and said Fire District shall be known and designated as Fire Zones 1, 2, and 3, snd each such zone shall include such territory or portions of said City as illustrated, outlined and desig- nated on a certain map on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Columbia Heights being marked and designated as '~ire Zones of the City of Columbia Heights" which is hereby adopted as the fire zoning map of the City of Columbia Heights for the application of the re~u!ations included in the "Uniform Building Code 1955 Edition, published by Pacific Coast Building, Officials Conference." SECTION ~, This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after thirty days after its passage.
