HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 278ORDINANCE NO. AJ~ ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE POSTING OF LITERATURE A~ND DISPLAYS ON PUBLIC UTILITY POLES THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS DOES ORDAIN: SECTION I. Definition: For the purpose of this ordinance, the terms used herein are defined as follows: Literature and displays shall mean any and all types of posters, charactertures, leaflets, signs, or advertisements of any kind or nature. Utility poles shall mean any and all telephone, electric light, street railway company, or any other moles or posts erected within a street or public right-of-way. SECTION II. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or co~poratlon, to attach or display any advertisements of any nature whatsoever by attaching same to any utility poles within the City of Columbia Heights. SECTION III. Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a mis- demeanor, and upon a conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $100,00, or imprisonment not exceeding ninety days. SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after thirty days after its passage.
