RESOLUTION 78-59
SETTING MAXIMUM HOUSEHOLD INCOME LEVELS FOR LOW
INCOME SENIOR CITIZENS TO QUALIFY FOR LOWER RATES
ON GARBAGE SERVICE, SEWAGE DISPOSAL, AND WATER
SUPPLY IN THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia
Heights, that
WHEREAS, it is the intention of this City Council to assist our
senior citizens who may be attempting to retain
a reasonable standard of living primarily from pensions,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Columbia Heights that senior citizens utility rates for residents
62 years of age or older with a maximum household income of $7,OO0
per year be set as follows:
Minimum Water Use:
$1.OO/month for 600 cubic feet or
less
Maximum Sewer Disposal: $2.OO/month
Garbage Pick-Up Rate: $1.OO/month
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said rates be effective on billings
submitted after January 1, 1979 following receipt of the proper
forms from the individual senior citizens.
