VOTERS OF THE CITY OF LIQUOR L~ ,.c ~c COLUHBiA HEIGHTS WHEREAS, the City Council and various core,unity groups have held public hearings regarding 'the possibility of a split liquor system in the City of Columbia ?ieights, arm WHEREAS, the citizens attending those hearings have expressed interest in enabling the City Council to issue liquor licenses to hotels and restaurants which may wish to locate within the City, and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 340.353, Subdivisions 5 and 6 forbid + ~ ~- ~ ,,n,ii authcrized by the vo~e~s ~h~ issuance of such li .... s~s the City. NOW IHEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS: That the question, "Shall the governing body of the City of Columbia Heights be au'~horized to issue 'on-sale' liquor licenses to private persons for the operation of liquor stores in conjunction with a hotel or restaurant as defined in Hinnesota Statute 340.07", be submitted to a special election of 'the voters of the City of Columbia Heights to be conducted simultaneously with the general election of November 2, 1976, in accordance with the applicable provisions of Minnesota election law.
