Reimbursement for Basic Training of Peace officers
Enclosed is an application form for reimbursement for the basic
training of each member of your department who completed the
8-week basic police course during fiscal year 1975 (July 1, 1974 -
June 30, 1975). We estimate that your local unit of government
will receive about $900 for each officer who finished the course.
To be eligible for these funds you must have complied with the
minimum selection standards and the other rules and regulations
which may be found on the reverse side of the forms. If according
to our records you have not complied with the minimum standards
we have sent notice of this information. (Notices are enclosed
in the case of officers who completed their training this month.)
You should let us know if our information is incorrect. If it is
correct you should take the necessary steps to comply with the
minimum standards before you submit your request for reimburse-
ment funds. The application form includes an affirmation that
our minimum standards and other rules have been complied with.
It is necessary that your city council or county board should
designate someone to be official applicant for the reimbursement
.funds due to you this year. The date of your council's resolution
must be indicated in the appropriate place in each application form.
All forms must be completely filled out and must be notarized.
Call us at once if you have any questions so that we can assist
you. Please return the application forms by July 1, 1975, so that
we can begin processing them. Alt checks will be sent to the
treasurer of your local unit of government.
