SETTING SALARIES FOR MEMBERS OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
FOR 1974
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS
that
WHEREAS, negotiations have proceeded for several months between the
International Association of Firefighters Local 1216 representing members
of the Fire Department, the City CouncilZs Labor Consultant and the City
Manager, and said negotiations have not resulted in a mutually accepted
contract in all respects,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the contract agreements as negotiated
for 1973 remain in effect for 1974 for members of the Columbia Heights Fire
Department until details on areas under dispute are resolved for a new con-
tract.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Manager, be and they are
hereby authorized to proceed with the instituting of the following changes
to the supplemental pay schedule:
Firefighters supplementary payment to be increased from $87/month
to $159.00 per month
Fire Captains supplementary payment to be increased from $150.O0
per month to $226.00 per month
Said adjustments to be retroactive to the first pay period in
January 1974, and to be subject to approva1 by International
Association of Firefighters Local 1216
