' , . - -~- ~ 590- 40th AVENUE N.E. 788-922~ CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA 55,121 RESOLUTION #72-77 SETTING SALARIES FOR MEMBERS OF THE COLUMBI~ HEIGHTS POLICE DEPARTMENT REPRESENTED BY LOCAL 145 (NOW 320) TEAMSTERS FOR ~972. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Ci[y Cn~nci] of [he City of Columbia Heights, that based upon an agreemen£ between the Labor Negotiator for the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights and the representa[ives of the Po]ice Department personnel of the City of Columbia Heights, [t is hereby agreed that the following terms of salary and conditions of employment be established For ]972: ] · A top patrolman base salary for of FFcers in the Columbia Heights private pension plan be estab] [shed at $894 per month on which pensFon computations and ccntribut ions sha]] be based. 2. A '~pension inequity,, payment of $82 per month shall be paid to each officer in the Columbia Heights private pension pian. 3. Authorized overt[me shall be paid at time and one-half on a cash bas [s. ~. Police OFficers in the Public Safety P.E.R.A. pens on program wi ]] be on the Fei lowing step system: tst 6 months - $846 per month 2nd 6 months - $889 per month 2nd year - 8924 per month 3rd year - $94] per month 4th year $959 per month 5th year - $976 per month 5. Civilian Dispatchers step scale wi]] be as follows: ]st 6 months - $706 per month 2nd 6 months - 2nd year _ 3rd year _ 4th year _ 5th year - S749 per month S784 per month $80] per month $819 per month 9836 per month - 2 - Education ncentive pay to be established at the rate of 40~ (forty cents) per month per approved college credit up to a maximum of 90 credits for completed courses in which a~grade of "C~' or better is earned. Courses must be related to po1 ice work, as approved by the City Manager. Education Incentive pay will begin one month after verification of grade transcripts and approval by the C i ty Manager. 7. In lieu of c]othing al]owance, the City shat] replace uniform items as necessary with the worn out articles to be turned in for exchange. Initial uniforms for new patrolmen to be supp] led as needed for the season. 8. One additional holiday (Good Friday or Easter) shall be granted over the nine es~ab] [shed legal holidays. 9. False arrest insurance to be continued for all department officers . lO. A $5,000 life insurance policy shall be granted to all department members . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Item 6 be effective as stated, Item 7 as of the effective date of acceptance by the City Counc and personnel representative.
