WHEREAS, representative goverpnnent is based on the one-man, one-vote
principle, as well as upon the principle of continuity of interest with
each constituency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
That the State Legislature is hereby requested to redistrict
forthwith, so that elections may be held for all legislative offices
during the 1972 fall elections based on properly apportioned new
districts.
That said redistricting respect the Columbia Heights municipal and
Anoka County boundaries, and that the City of Columbia Heights
not be split into more than one House or Senate district so that the
continuity of interest of the citizens of Columbia Heights may be
maintained.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be sent to applicable
Legislators, and to the Governor of the State of Minnesota.
