HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 71-25CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES 590-40th AVENUE N.E. 788-9221 COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA 55421 RESO,UT'ON ?/- RESOLUTION OF INTENT REGARDING THE 1971 AND 1972 COMPENSATION AGREEMENT FOR MEMBERS OF THE INTERNATIONAL UNION OF OPERATING ENGINEERS LOCAL 49 AND TEAMSTERS LOCAL 664. WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Area Management Association, representing approximately thirty suburban communities in the Twin City Metropolitan Area, did through its negotiating committee enter into discussion with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49 in accordance with Section 179.50 of the Minnesota Statutes, and WHEREAS, the discussions between the negotiating committee of the Metropolitan Area Management Association and the representatives of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49 and discussions between the Council Representatives and Teamsters Local 664 have resulted in agreement, and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Area Management Association has recommended to all of the communities it represents that the agreement be implemented, and WHEREAS, such an agreement between the negotiating committee of the Metropolitan Area Management Association and the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49 and between the Council negotiators and Teamsters Local 664 must be approved by the City Council before the agreement can become effective, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights bat it is the intent of the City Council to provide for the following: 1971 Agreement 1. A salary rate of $768 per month ($4.44 per hour) for the salary for the Light Equipment Operators and $838 per month ($4.84 per hour) for salary for the Heavy Equipment Operators. - 2 - 7/- v .5- Other salary differentials to be b*ased on the Heavy Equipment Operator Scales ($4.84 per hour - I971) and Light Equipment Operator Scales ($~.44 per hour - 1971) as follows: Shop Foreman: 20¢ per hour over H.E,O. (1971 - $5.04 per hour). Mechancis: Same as H.E.O. (1971 - $4.84 per hour). Traffic and Sign Man: 10¢ per hour over L.E.O. to 10¢ per hour under H.E.O. depending upon merit and experience (1971 - $4.74 per hour ) . Sewer and Water Maintenance Man: $/~.54 per hour). 10¢ per hour over L.E.O. (197t - Parkkeepers: 5¢ per hour over L.E.O. (1971 $4.49 per hour). Meter Reader. (Plumbing Assistant): $2.50 per hour up to a maximum of 15¢ under L.E.O. (1971 maximum $4.29 per hour). The new salary rates for 197I to become effective on the first day of January, 1971. 1972 Agreement A salary increase effective January l, 1972 equal to the percent of increase in the Twin City Area cost of living for October, 1970 to October, 1971 or a $50 per month (29C/hour) increase, whichever is greater. BE 1T FURTHER RESOLVED that any additional fringe benefits such as insurance of any type granted to all other employees shall include personnel represented by these respective unions. This Resolution shall become effective upon acceptance in writing from the representatives of Local 49 Operating Engineers, and Local 664 Teamsters.
