HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 91-60RESOLUTION 91-60 CONFIRMING TAX LEVY BY COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA FISCAL YEAR 1992 BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED HEIGHTS, THAT: THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF (HRA) AND APPROVING HRA OPERATING BUDGET FOR BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA WHEREAS, the Minnesota (HRA), and Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Columbia Heights, has by resolution adopted a budget for Fiscal Year 1992; WHEREAS, said Authority has also resolved that a special tax be levied of $70,000 (.01288%) upon all taxable property, both real and personal, in the City of Columbia Heights as per the attached HRA Tax Levy Budget; and WHEREAS, Section 469.033, Subdivision 6, of the Minnesota Statutes requires approval by the governing body of the municipality in and for which said Authority was created. NOW, THEREFORE BE RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of the City of Columbia Heights approves the HRA Operating Budget and Tax Levy Budget and consents to the levy of $70,000 (.01288%) upon all taxable property, both real and personal, in the City of Columbia Heights, by said Authority, as special taxing district, for use for the purpose of the provisions of Section 469.001 et seq of the Minnesota Statutes. Rueuimann BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, that THE COUNTY AUDITOR be, and he is hereby directed, to levy the delinquent special assessments on the properties in the City of Columbia Heights as submitted on the attached pages and filed in the Assessment Book for 1991 totaling $59,463.44. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the foregoing amounts shall be included in the individual real estate tax statements for the current year and identified thereon as "Special Assessments - Fund #913". SAID LEVIES shall be enforced and collected in the manner provided for the enforcement and collection of State and County taxes under and in accordance with the provisions of the general laws of the State. All assessments with penalties and interest as indicated thereon paid to the County Treasurer shall belong to the City of Columbia Heights and shall be turned over to the City Treasurer in the manner provided by the City Charter and Ordinances. THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS shall accept payments on these levies until October 8, 1991. Upon receipt of said payments the County will be notified to remove this levy from the tax rolls.
